FightingFish00x
Is now the right time to make the move? Hand didn't do so well yesterday and he's struggled with his control over the last few outings --we can't give away games by walking in runs! I also don't like the idea of Penny starting every fifth day so I think the Marlins should give Heaney another chance. He's had a few good outings in AAA and his changeup has improved based on what I've read recently. He needs the major league experience. Plus it would be nice to have a lefty in the rotation. Wild Card
They will bring him up in Sept so they don't have to DFA Hand or Penny.

If Heaney gives you a better chance of winning every 5th day you bring him up now. I agree with Pollyvonwog. I don't see how Penny is going to help this team this season or long term. We don't lose anything by designating him for assignment.

While I get your point, there is time to waste because September callups are coming up this weekend with an offday on Thursday. You could easily go through Cosart, Eovaldi, Alvarez, and Koehler before calling up Heaney to replace the 2 Brads in the rotation and still keep both Brads without DFA'ing Penny. Not that I wouldn't DFA Penny but the Marlins could easily callup Heaney as a Sept. callup and then still keep all parties on the team.
