canada-marlin24
As we know, when the Marlins play the Braves in extra innings its not a matter of if something will go wrong but when. I did not even have time to ask for Morris to please be careful with Gattis and there you go. Great sliders by Morris to D'Arnaud and Gattis. Really clutch. And once again, we are back to where we were two days ago failing to take advantage of another Brewers loss. Just in time for the Brewers to get hot against the Marlins. One minute you are really believing in this team and then 5 minutes later you are pulling hair. Wow do I fucking hate Craig Kimbrel and Evan Gattis. And the pitching matchup tomorrow is really in our favor. Can someone recall the last time we beat the Braves in extras? I really just wanted to enjoy my saturday. Thanks guys. canada-marlin24
I wonder if we will get another Marlins special tomorrow. You know, the win the opener then lose the next two?
SongInTheAir
Don't worry guys, we have Brad Hand and Brad Penny pitching the next two days. We shouldn't even play the games, just chalk up two wins.

That was a two game swing on the Braves and it feels like they are giving up a chance to gain ground every night. We seem to have more disheartening losses than most. Erick
They're probably just more disheartening to you because you like this team more than all of the other teams. The reality is that they've won plenty of exciting games too.

This is true but I also watch almost any game I can and I have seen losses where I was telling myself I would probably jump off a bridge is that was the Marlins. But still the 1-0 loss to Braves, 8-6 loss to Mets, 4-3 loss to Mets, then tonight. And that is just the last week. I seriously cant remember when we last won 2 in a row. dim
Must win game. Really sucks but sh*t happens. Team has been amazing in 1 run games this year. At some point it was bound to even out, even if it was just a little. Eovaldi continues to have a poor inning that ruins the rest of his totals. He's becoming a better version of what made me hate Ricky Nolasco so much. Still have a lot of faith in Eo and still see him as the #2/3 in the rotation long term, but damn it if he doesn't need to cut that sh*t out. Biggest thing the team needs to do this offseason is figure out the infield. McGehee, despite his obvious regression, should be fine for next season. As much as Hechavarria annoys many of us and the numbers tend to back it up, we all know he's going to start at SS next season so no point in complaining. Now comes 2B and 1B. Unlike a lot of people I don't think Bour is the answer for that position to start next year. I also would rather not go back to Jones again. As for 2B I don't like Solano starting there and while I continue to hype up Dietrich I don't feel comfortable starting him everyday if we want to seriously compete next year. The outfield is going to be great just like this year, the starting rotation will figure itself out when JFern is healthy, and the bullpen can be put together from scrap just as we proved this year. If there's two key areas to address in the offseason via trade or free agent signing, it has to be that right side of the infield.

Just cant afford to go back and forth at this point. Would have been just 4 back. You kind of had the feeling that unless Baker drove in McGehee that the Braves would find some way to score. Pretty much happens every extra inning game we play against them. Marlins have not beaten them in extras in a long fucking time. And Gattis really has no problem picking up where Brian McCann left off with crushing hit after crushing hit.
Michael
If we're going to $75,000,000 payroll, then Pablo Sandoval, please.
dim
If we're going to $75,000,000 payroll, then Pablo Sandoval, please. We're not going to a $75 million payroll. Talk is cheap, just like Jeffrey Loria. Just trade Stanton for the Cubs farm and be done with it.

But I think McGehee is probably the better third basemen. I say forget Sandoval, health issues and not worth it. Give me Adrian Beltre. Though I would take Sandoval for sure. Michael
Beltre? Old. Only plays well when his home games are in hitter's parks or if he's in a contract year. See - 2004, 2010-2014

Michael
He is hitting .324. He plays his home games in a hitter's park. Look at 2005-2009 when he played in Seattle. Similar park to here. He'd be no where near as good as he's been since 2010 if he played half his games in Miami.

Michael
See, I'd rather have Pablo Sandoval who is always hitting in a pitchers park rather than Beltre who only has really good seasons when he plays in hitters parks. Beltre has the edge defensively, but Sandoval has always played in a hitters park, and been rather decent throughout with the bat while solid with the glove. Beltre would also require a trade, not a free agent until maybe 2017 [y'know, Vesting Option]. Pandoval is a free agent this off-season. We'd probably have to give up something a bit valuable to get Beltre, would rather not do that for a guy who's gonna be 36 a week into the season next year. Just a thought. Disclaimer: I'm not against Beltre, just feel Sandoval is the better option.

Erick
Don't want Sandoval or Beltre. If we're getting a corner infielder, I'm still for experimenting with the idea of Victor Martinez at 1B. And if we're interested in a proven commodity at the position, Adam LaRoche would be cool too. These guys can hit and are less expensive than the 3B options.
