Rune
It's all over the news but it seems everyone is supporting this guy and it all seems locked up that Howard Deal will be The Next Democratic Canidate. Dean is just warming up to me more and more and My dad who looks upon JFK as God say's Dean has been the best he's seen since JFK. THAT'S how much Dean can get people to like him. Dean is a force and this is a guy who no one heard about a few months ago.
Das Texan
I agree fully Rune. Nobody really has a chance to better Dean from the Democratic side anymore.... Good times. Bring on Bush.
Hotcorner
the only other guy i like at all is Wesley Clark. he's got that sort of wimpy personality though that plagues some democrats. you're right Rune, Dean's definately a force. If he gets rolling, look out. Gore backing him is huge. He's a fund-raising machine.
Das Texan
Look at what Dean has done so far....he is already rolling big time..... This will just get the ball rolling that much more... If Gore is backing Dean, Clinton wont be far behind, unless Dean does not want Bill to publically acknowledge it yet if at all....

Are you watching him on Hardball now? Holding up very well. Both my dad and I agree that a team of Wesley as Vp and Dean as President would be a power house helping The Democrats with The Indy vote. If Gore is backing Dean, Clinton wont be far behind, unless Dean does not want Bill to publically acknowledge it yet if at all.... :w00t You really think so? I thought Clinton was pretty much politically untouchable since the M incident. I think Clinton is the man that can get that ball rolling even faster. He is Mr. Publicity king. No matter how much Republicans tried to undermine his popularity with their nonsense, it practically remained untouched. I have heard good things about Dean... But is he really strong enough to stand up to Bush? In the last presidential campaigns, Democrats seemed "pussified" and did not have much presence... Gore came close but not strong enough; as if the Democrats were afraid of confronting the Republicans on real issues... What is your point of view? Das Texan
As far as the Clinton endoresement, that may be a matter of timing more than anything. If the Dean camp feels that they need Clinton to come out publically during primary season then expect it to occur. If not then dont expect it till the convention. Granted there is no assurances that Clinton is endorsing of Dean, simply the fact that him and Gore are pretty close still. Dean has done some interesting things and has pretty much gone against the 'establishment' and done things his way. I think he can most definitely give Bush a real run for his money and even defeat him if enough people get out and vote.
Al Gore
I figured it would be best if I chimed in on this issue. The fact of the matter is, people make choices and I chose to back Mr. Dean. I understand some would be bothered by this and some would support me in my decision. In this world you realize one thing quickly, you can't appease everyone and I consider that an important thing to know. In conclusion, Mr. Dean represents everything I believe in and he has my full support. Thank you for your time.

minus
I don't think Dean will be the person to unseat Bush but 2008 looks like a good year for us(Democrats).

No more Republicans? :banghead oh come on... i dont want to sound mean, but when you're 14 years old, your political "beliefs" are basically a reflection of what your parents say. when i was 14, i was essentially an extension of the GOP. ...and i'm sure 04pac's parents are liberals and superangels' parents are conservatives. if you ask me, political beliefs are pretty much GIGO until you get to college. until then, all you're doing is rooting for a sports team. I don't know if I agree with that. 60% of conservative parents pass on their ideology to their children, and 80 % of liberals do that. Your ideology was probably very close to your parents. Most Americans are dimwits and are swayed by the media and don't know what exactly what they are voting for. When I was 14, I knew more about politics then most Americans. It is not age, most Americans make their decisions ignorantly. No offense to Pube, but he said "good thing i hate politics... im just gonna vote for teh underdog ." What kind of basis for voting is that? Would you vote for Hitler if he was the underdog (and he was way back when...)? People will vote for only white, protestant, males, who are fairly young (more so then it was anyway...) So unless you are really involved in politics and all the muck makes you think the whole deal really sucks, I don't think one can pass judgement on how others derive their beliefs based upon age, because their overall knowledge or basis for voting can be equal to yours. And even then, the state of mind of most voters isn't any better, and if someone wants to vote, they are smarter than half the country that doesn't vote in presidential elections. So don't nip the buds while they are growing. People should want to be politically involved. P.S. College is pretty much a leftist brainwashing session! I must admit, its good to hear differing opinions and do research to formulate a better, more well informed opinion for yourself, but hey, the college atmosphere is almost too ideological, too far away from reality (like communism is good in concept...) So one must always be wary about where they get their info and what leaning it has. If someone wants to be politically involved, hopefully they do the proper research so they can vote for what they themselves truly believe in- not what some professor or media pundit brainwashed you into thinking. I must admit, my university isn't that bad yet (just one incredibly leftist teacher, two ordinary leftists...) and we even had a philosophical debate against affirmative action (a view from the right.) P.P.S. If you pay taxes, you should be allowed to vote, end of story.

Good stuff and very true. I've finally broken the parental infusion of GOP BS and yearn for the day when we get a peaceful person in the White House who doesn't destroy America's already worn global reputation. "Can't have both guns and butter" ...I'd prefer the butter.
