Miami president David Samson recently said the team would not consult directly about Fernandez's innings with Boras.

 

But after those comments were made public, Marlins president of baseball operations Michael Hill took the lead in making sure the team and Boras were on the same page. The source said Samson was not part of the conference call.

 

On MLB Network's "Hot Stove" show on Monday morning, Peter Gammons reported the conference call lasted three hours.

End of Mike Hill? Yea maybe he went over Samson here but I think he did the right thing. I know Boras can be an ass but it's probably best to at least be able to work with him as long as Jose is still here. Can't always better the team butting heads with everyone.
