Press Conference

Featured Replies

Brief conference but what really mattered is Dee and he's just an awesome person and that's that.

Still waiting for him to marry my daughter.

Since you're 87, I bet she's quite a bit too old for him...

Why do people mock the "culture of losing" stuff like it's not real?

For me personally I understand the argument due to the history of bad moves and bad drafting by the front office. But the expression is sort of ridiculous to me. Sort of reminiscent of "We bad news bear"

until the Miami Marlins have a winning season, I think the "culture of losing" thing is totally relevant

The culture of losing stuff is kind of appropriate because the front office has a very backwards way of doing things and predictably has very little to show for it.

I think the Marlins might have the second longest playoff drought in baseball now after the Mariners. If that's not a "culture of losing," what do you call it?

It's right up there with "That's So Marlins" as well

And Stupidthing. Miami. International.

Want to make this at least a culture of winning? Start by winning games at pittsburgh, arizona and san diego and dont let people like freddy galvez beat you. How you like that?

I also think that the attitudes toward this franchise shared by the legions of fans of other teams sort of reinforce the "culture of losing" angle. I bet if you polled fans of other teams and asked them which franchise do you associate with "losing," most would say the Marlins. The Cubs might be a rival but fans do think of them as being endearing losers whereas people seem to resent the fact that the Marlins have won two championships because their history is so rocky otherwise.

Analyzing every move by saying it won't work because "culture of losing" is annoying.

So maybe I misunderstood what the issue people are having here is. Repeating it incessantly and using it as an excuse or reason why any given move the FO makes will fail is dumb and annoying. I get that.

But the franchise does have a culture of losing. That's all I'm saying.

Vince actually has some kind of culture of losing meter in his bedroom I imagine. Like a giant thermometer that fluctuates with every Marlins move.

Well yeah, obviously. They lose every year.

But Vince has a knack of bringing it into every discussion and tends to include things that make no sense. Like, for example, his dislike of Stanton's contract and his overall dislike of Stanton's BFF, AJ Ramos.

It's probably his penis. I imagine it's fully erect 24/7.

No.

Opinions man. When we let go of Bruce aven I was upset and I would have rambled on. But I wasn't aware of this website at the time.

whatever happened to miamibaseball or whoever had that "bad news bear" shtick. that shit totally didn't get old after like 2 days.

You are so old, you walked into an antique shop and they sold you.
