As an owner of an Xbox One and a non-4K capable TV, is there ANY reason for me to buy the upcoming "S" console from Microsoft?

No. Buy a PS4.

So any reason to get that if you don't have a 4K TV and already own a PS4?

So PlayStation is coming out with a VR headset, which from what I've seen will only work on the Neo. Obviously faster processor. And the 4K part of it is from what I've read only for watching videos, not playing games. Improved resolutions, frame rates, etc., but not true 4K.

So nah I don't think it's worth it.

Supposedly the Microsoft Scorpio will be be better than both Xbox s/Neo when it comes out

Sony has me trapped though because of MLB The Show!

Yeah the Scorpio I plan to get but I think I'll skip the S and the Neo

There hasn't been a definite price, but low end VR ready PCs are around $1000, so the reviewers are guesstimating not much lower than that.

I won't pay 800 for a console

You won't notice the 4K unless you're like 4 feet away from the TV. Wait for the Scorpio if you really want an upgrade. Other than that, be happy with what you have!

And if you have a 4K TV which I don't yet

I have a 70" 4K TV and the difference is very noticeable.

This is what I'll need to check in person when I am shopping for one. Some say it makes no difference, others say it does. Its like when HD first came out and as we know, that was a VERY noticeable change.

You do need to get a large TV to truly appreciate the difference. Anything under 60 imo will be a waste.

I have a 55 currently so I may go 60 on the next one, I never like to go smaller or status quo with TV sizes.

65 or higher. Also depends on how far back you sit from your TV.

I sit pretty close to mine, not sure my eyes could handle going any bigger ha

Pretty close being 4/5ft?

5.5 feet
