I believe he also works in the bullpen.  I have got the distinct opinion Ichiro really doesn't need a translator, but is afraid of making a mistake.  Damn he has been here 16 years, and lives in the US at least 1/2 year if not most of the year so he has to have a pretty good if not better use of the English language.  Hey, maybe better than a lot of us, lol

Ichiro speaks English but he uses the translator for press conferences because he wants to properly get his message across. He isn't confident he'll do that in English.
