December 14, 200322 yr Miggy Tejada is reported to have signed with the O's for 6 years 65 million. It was just reported. MLB Radio and the Sporting news reported it.
December 14, 200322 yr The O's are slowly dropping out of the race for Vlad Leaving the Marlins the only one's standing.
December 14, 200322 yr Well, they overpaid like I had hoped. Things just got very interesting on the Vlad front.
December 14, 200322 yr I am amazed, The Marlins have a shot at landing VLAD! I am also happy for Tejada. :thumbup :thumbup :hat :hat

December 14, 200322 yr Your Only Happy for Tejada since he is out of the West Good Job for Tejada to get all that moeny
December 14, 200322 yr subtract more $$$$ from that pot, it appears they about to trade for Angels' Troy Percival
December 14, 200322 yr Your Only Happy for Tejada since he is out of the West Thats bonus time! It was scary with the rumors that Tejada would sign with the Mariners. It would be sad to see Percival go! But that would free up $ 7.5 million.
December 14, 200322 yr Good deal by the Orioles. I really dont think they overpaided too much for him. But 6 years 60 million probably would have done it. Still a good deal though, just a little weary on the years they gave him. I would have pushed for 4 years and a mutual option for a fifth year. Well if that 40 million they got to spend is true. They can still afford Fudge or Javy. Plus some pitchers like Ponson and Percival
December 14, 200322 yr crap, cbs sportsline is reporting that Tejada's deal is 6 years $54 million. Not the rumored 6 years $65 million. Not good.
December 14, 200322 yr There are conflicting reports. What I find odd is that ESPN hasn't reported this. They must be waiting to get an exact number on the contract. I guess we'll have to wait on that.
December 14, 200322 yr Guys, if Vlad is twice the player Tejada is (because tejada relatively stinks) and Tejada signed at about 11 million, Vlad is in no way, shape, or form signing for 12 million a year. Ha ha orioles, now you have Tony Bautista is a younger form!

December 15, 200322 yr Orioles land Tejada with six-year, $54M offer Dec. 14, 2003 By Scott Miller SportsLine.com Senior Writer NEW ORLEANS ? Making their first major free-agent deal in several years, the Baltimore Orioles reeled in shortstop Miguel Tejada on Sunday with a six-year, $54 million offer, according to sources within the industry. The Tejada signing should bring a large sigh of relief to the Orioles, who have failed to sign several free agents over the past few seasons. This winter, in addition to Tejada, the Orioles have offers out to outfielder Vladimir Guerrero and catchers Javy Lopez and Ivan Rodriguez. The offers to Rodriguez (three years, $21 million, according to sources) and Lopez (three years, $18 million) are meant to snare one front-line catcher. Whichever accepts, the Orioles will pull the offer from the other catcher. Guerrero, meanwhile, is said to be mulling a five-year, $65 million offer from the Orioles. The signing closes the book on Tejada?s chapter with Oakland. It came after an intense day of bidding for the All-Star shortstop between the Orioles and Seattle. The Mariners, according to sources, increased their offer to five years, $45 million before the Orioles finally closed the deal.
December 15, 200322 yr Good Job for Tejada to get all that moeny It would also be nice if you can spell.
December 15, 200322 yr Orioles land Tejada with six-year, $54M offer Wow, that sure makes the Mariners' offer of like $25 million look stupid now...
