June 7, 20188 yr Too early to say but in the time since Loria's departure there sure have been a lot more signs of Hill being better than we thought than not. You're right, but "better than we thought" could still be the second worst GM of all time.

June 8, 20188 yr We've accumulated all of these arms since the middle of last year when we traded away Ramos and Phelps. They are all pitching well or extremely well and are either young or the right age for their league. Pablo Lopez has been very dominant in AA and was just promoted to AAA. Nick Neidert is also having an impressive season and he is the youngest of the bunch. Sandy Alcantara AAA 22 yrs old (Ozuna Trade) Zac Gallen AAA 22 yrs old (Ozuna Trade) Pablo Lopez AAA 22 yrs old (Phelps Trade) Robert Dugger AA 22 yrs old (Gordon Trade) Merandy Gonzalez AA 22 yrs old (Ramos Trade) Nick Neidert AA 21 yrs old (Gordon Trade) Jorge Guzman A+ 22 yrs old (Stanton Trade) Jordan Yamamoto A+ 22 yrs old (Yelich Trade) Then we have our own draft picks or international signings starting to develop as well. Braxton Garrett A- 20 yrs old (T J Rehab) 1st round pick 2016 Trevor Rogers A- 20 yrs old 1st round pick 2017 Edward Cabrera A- 18 yrs old INT FA Brady Puckett A+ 22 yrs old 2017 Draft Pick Tyler Kolek A- 22 yrs old ( I know, I know) 1st round pick 2015 Ryan Lillie A- 22 yrs old ( Just turned 22 in May. Probably be in A+ soon) Trevor Richards AAA 25 yrs old Indy League Jarlin Garcia AAA 25 yrs old INT FA Dillon Peters AAA 25 yrs old 2014 Draft Pick Needless to say that there is plenty of depth right now up and down the system. Not sure if there is a true #1 in that bunch but there are plenty of good young arms. How about creating a list of "position players prospects",maybe it wouldn't as good as pitchers prospects.

June 8, 20188 yr Nobody should be defending the state of our farm system prior to the change in ownership. If you are then you are being difficult for the sake of being difficult. from February 2017. https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/top-13-prospects-miami-marlins/
June 8, 20188 yr How about creating a list of "position players prospects",maybe it wouldn't as good as pitchers prospects. K, I'll give it a shot. Trades The trades brought back some really talented young players. Harrison and Diaz standout as the best returns but Devers is also very promising. Sierra should also contribute in some capacity. Monte Harrison OF 22 AA Isan Diaz 2B/SS 22 AA Magneuris Sierra OF 22 AAA Bryan Hernandez OF 20 yrs old A (short) Ricardo Cespedes OF 20 yrs old A (short) Jose Devers SS 18 yrs old A - Christopher Torres SS 20 yrs old A (short) Signed or drafted in the last 2 years 2016 and 2017 have also brought back some nice young talent. Dunand and Mahan are very exciting prospects. Nelson and Miller have done nothing but since they were drafted while Thomas Jones has started to come on this year. Marinez was one of the top INT FA in 2016 and of course Scott is our current 1st round pick. Connor Scott OF 18 yrs old 2018 draft James Nelson 3B 20 yrs old A + 2016 draft Brian Miller OF 22 yrs old A + 2017 draft Joe Dunand SS/3B 22 yrs old A + 2017 draft. Riley Mahan 2B 22 yrs old A + 2016 draft. Thomas Jones OF 20 yrs old A (Short) 2016 draft Ynmanol Marinez SS 17 yrs old DSL INT FA 2017 Sean Reynolds 1B 20 yrs old A (short) 2016 draft Jarett Rindfleisch C 22 yrs old A + 2016 draft Others These players have taken longer to develop but have a shot a contributing at some point. Morales could be J T's replacement someday and Dean might be up really soon. Alonso is the wild card because he's a little older but has a ton of power. He left Cuba in 15' but couldn't sign until 16'. Roy Morales C 22 yrs old A + 2014 draft Johnny Santos OF 21 yrs old A - 2014 INT FA Brian Schales 3B 22 yrs old AA 2014 draft Austin Dean OF 24 yrs old AAA 2012 draft Lazaro Alonso 1B 23 yrs old A - INT FA 2016 Stone Garrett OF 22 yrs old A + 2014 draft All in all we don't have a ton of high end prospects but there is finally some talent being accumulated. Mostly in the lower minors as all but Dean are in AA or below.
