IMO best case scenario right there.

It would actually play along with the narrative that Jeter is a Yankee spy sent here to get Stanton to the Yankees and then the plot twist is that Stanton was actually the spy, sent by Jeter to the Yankees with the intent to eventually return to the Marlins from the beginning.
