December 10, 20187 yr Mejia, Naylor, Paddack, Allen and Edwards. What y'all think, is it too much? lol I kinda doubt the Marlins would want Naylor back, but the other 4 seem good (I thought we were gonna draft Edwards and would've liked the pick). Padres also have a Competitive Balance pick in Round B (74 overall) which can be traded.

Padres also have a Competitive Balance pick in Round B (74 overall) which can be traded. Why tho? Naylor is really good, Imo he could be our 1B for many years, it seems like he turned into a beast when Marlins traded him. I always rooted for him, unlike many of the fan base.
December 10, 20187 yr After checking the stats of Paddack,Castillo and Naylor, I really hate Loria and Hill.
December 10, 20187 yr After checking the stats of Paddack,Castillo and Naylor, I really hate Loria and Hill. It's not easy being a Marlins fan bro.... ?♂️ The deal that hurts the most for me out of those 3 is Naylor and Paddack... ? they gave them away for a 39 YEAR OLD FERNANDO RODNEY....

If Hill could take both back in the JT trade, I would tell everybody he's the best GM of the world !!!

FWIW it was Paddack for Rodney straight up and Naylor was in the Cashner deal. If the reports of Loria meddling are true, Paddack for Rodney seems 100% like something Loria would want. The reason I said they might not want Naylor is because the value of one-dimensional 1B/OF types is at an all time low. If they acquired a guy like that, I think it would have be someone that's displayed more in-game power (like Alonso from NYM), which Naylor still hasn't really done yet. Not saying he couldn't eventually though.
December 10, 20187 yr I remember being ok with Paddack for Rodney at the time because it was "just one prospect"... but I was definitely wrong and that trade, along with the Cashner one, is an excellent example of the stupidity of the Loria era and the exact type of moves that Jeter has to prove he won't be doing.
December 10, 20187 yr because it was "just one prospect"... In fact, he got the VIDEO GAME stats even when he's still in our organization.
December 10, 20187 yr In fact, he got the VIDEO GAME stats even when he's still in our organization. I haven't seen Paddack in a video game yet, which one was he in?
December 10, 20187 yr I haven't seen Paddack in a video game yet, which one was he in? Maybe in the "MLB 2020".
December 10, 20187 yr I think our statement to all teams interested in JT should be "Give us what we want for a 28 years old JT now, or to scramble a 30 years old JT two years after".
December 10, 20187 yr FWIW it was Paddack for Rodney straight up and Naylor was in the Cashner deal. Lol yes, you are right! Don't know what made me think they were in the same deal ?
December 10, 20187 yr I remember the reaction to the Rodney trade like it was yesterday. "Now we're competitive and you dont want to give up probably our best prospect for a 40 year old half year rental reliever? Wow just wow." Lol.

Looking back, imagine the sick feelings in the stomachs of Mike Hill and other front office people who weren't Loria. They were probably livid.

December 10, 20187 yr When did the Marlins say they prefer to not trade in the division? I feel like that was a rumor that got stretched too far. When I heard Mike Hill on MLB Network and he was asked about trading in the division he said they go with best deal for the Marlins regardless of division.
