Tulo's deal is for '19, '20, and a '21 option.

Michael Hill is about to be on MLB Network Radio w/ Casey Stern.

He was released so that's all paid by Toronto. He can be signed now by any team for min salary.

Oh yeah, I know.  Was just pointing out if you signed him, you'd have him for this year and next year at the minimum.  The option I'm sure would be declined.  (I wonder how that works, would Toronto be responsible for that too minus the minimum if it were picked up?)

Tulo is a smart move, veteran stopgap, basically free, also looks like trying to win more in 2019.

I wouldn't mind it.  And if it doesn't work out, you release him.  Would we still pay that minimum then?  I don't know how that works.

We always pay the minimum, the contract with toronto remains with them regardless.

Right.  I meant if we signed him (we'd then play the minimum, obviously), and it didn't go well, and then WE release him.  Do we still pay that minimum, with Toronto taking the majority, and with another club also paying the minimum (coming out of Toronto's cut) if they were to sign him?

In other words, if we signed him, and then release him, do we still pay part (the minimum), or are we freed of obligations?
