Got Vlad?

A very big possibility for the bench in 2004:

Orlando Palmeiro - OF - St Louis Cardinals Dec 20

Outfielder Orlando Palmeiro declined the Cardinals' offer af arbitration.

Palmeiro still could re-sign with the Cardinals, but it's more likely that he'll head elsewhere. A return to Anaheim is a possibility.

The Marlins had interest in him last off-season...

Just a note. I don't believe our payroll is 60 mil. I think it is 60ish. That could make a bigger difference than you think when it is all said and done.

Another guy that is very possible instead of the Big Cat (pending his price):

Cubs Non-Tendered first baseman Randall Simon.

Choi and Simon, teamates again?

What makes you think that?

Now with the stadium deal stalling,I don't see how the Marlins will offer Vlad anything. It was long shot in the first place.

Choi and Simon, teamates again? Randall Simon will be great pickup....

Randall Simon would kickass

How come we're not trying to make a trade for a rod?

What players do The Marlins have the room to trade for Arod? I would love to know. I'm thinking he isn't serious about trading for A-Rod....but trying to make a point about all the money we have to spend.

At this point ARod would probably be cheaper than Vlad :w00t

WildCard....add 1.5 mill to the final payroll you underestimated Benitez and Burnett

and gonzo could be $350,000 more

btw, I hit closer and Burnett salaries right on the button, $3.5 and $2.5 million respectively

AGon is $6.2 over 2 years, don't know if that's divided evenly or what. Penny and Pavano are going to arbitration, so we don't know any numbers yet.

that's pretty funny that two of our best guys get paid less than most of our bench.

edit.... with Alex's raise... i am at $50,265,000.....

the only thing i am missing is Penny

no, but if you have microsoft excel and you give me your email, ill send it to you
