Marlins, Hill Parting Ways

In all seriousness.

Do you think Denbo gets this spot?

Do we maybe try and pry someone from elsewhere?

Do we bring back Larry Beinfest?

I hope Jeff Luhnow is nowhere near the radar. His one year suspension from the Astros situation will be up soon.

Old friend Dombrowski is also out there.

Honestly, no thanks.

He'll do whatever he can to win now and that includes depleting farm systems. Look at the Tigers and Red Sox.

Pretty sure Luhnow would never come here.

Who is gonna do this job? Definitely next "GM" will be served as a puppet for CEO Jeter.

A guy like Theo Epstein for instance would never take the gig under that setup. If that is how things would continue to run, Jeter's choices will be limited.

Everything we have heard about the decision making process of the marlins front office tells me that the hire whomever they are will need to fill in as a cog, not as a true authority figure. My picks would be either Barry Newell from the Rays organization, or Jean Afterman from the Yankees. Both are highly qualified, and bring a lot of information to the table. Neither would be expected to be a general administrator, but rather a clear authority in a particular area of need.
