Baseball America Preseason Top 10

Not sure if this has been discussed yet but Eury Perez moves to #1 on Marlins top prospects list for 2022.

Also, Jose Salas and Ian Lewis moved into the top 10.  SS is becoming a very deep position for us in the minors.  Watson, Salas, Lewis, Cappe, and Nunez gives a deep MI in the mid to low minors. Screenshot_20211110-165426_Chrome.thumb.jpg.e956d7d118b0438a7cd37429e19f3afc.jpg

That list is also one reason why you avoid going after a big name SS.   I dont mind them doing that, because you are locking in someone for 8-10 years at big bucks.

Unless you are having conversations about them moving off ss to 3b or 2b in 2-4 years...

It would show next to no urgency if the team opted to not get a player who would upgrade the team in a big number of ways because they have 3 young middle infielders a few years away that "might" turn into something. By the time Watson, Salas, and Lewis are ready this team will have holes in other areas if they don't start taking this stuff seriously.

Like I said, you have the conversation with the big names about a move to 2b or 3b in 3-4 years as part of your contract talks.

If you arent at least having those talks as part of your conversations you are an idiot.

Last thing you want is a superstar (see Jeter) who is your SS and there are better options out there but OH NO!  Superstar and prestige.

Ng would have those talks.

if Jeter is in charge....dont hold your breath.

If Eury is our #1 prospect, and Khalil, Sixto and Cabrera are all top 50 overall, how high does Eury rank?!

About 6'8, 6'9.
