First part is 98% or the argument. The second part goes both ways too the second time around could very well be the real Sixto and he could be a very hittable pitcher instead of how he did the first time around. He's had an extremely long track record of not being healthy though so I want him gone.

He’s still a top 100 prospect on every ranking I’ve seen, I’m not close to giving up on him. I understand frustration or dissatisfaction and feel those as well, but he’s 23, throws upper 90s, and has at least one filthy secondary pitch. 

I think his value has dropped to the point where we're probably better off keeping him and hoping it works out and then, as I've said before, he becomes like a bonus/secret weapon to boost us that we were no longer relying on. I also think that with all the pitching we have we no longer "need" him and if he doesn't pan out then who cares what do we lose from it at this point? It's not like the Jose Fernandez years where if/when we lost him we had no depth behind him and couldn't recover. We're still fine if Sixto doesn't work out and if he does then holy crap yet another weapon in the tank. With that said, if he works out awesome and then he gets his value back up and then we wanna trade him then before he possibly gets injured again then I'm all for that too. Either way it's best that we stick with him for now.

I want him gone only in a scenario he is a piece for a CF and they aren't selling too low.

Absent that, he's a hold for sure. He has huge upside. Nothing has changed. He's 23. You don't give up on him for at least 2 1/2 more seasons

Yep. Given it looks like the SP pipeline is "ideally" Sandy, Rogers, Pablo, Luzardo, Meyer.... and if they move one of them Cabrera (i.e., Pablo is moved to save $$$ and get a massive bat and the SP depth can handle it) .... and if someone gets hurt I imagine Eury and Eder are the RHP and LHP longterm replacements..... Sixto seems like the perfect guy to move to the bullpen. He's always had high end leverage reliever projections due to his build. Is it what we want for Realmuto? No. But if he turns into a lights out reliever and the rest of the rotation is as elite as we hope, sign me up.

I've said since last season he'd likely be a fantastic pen arm and i'd have zero issues with moving him there and i'd be more inclined to keep him as losing a pen arm is not as crushing as losing a starter when his inevitable injuries hit.  I do not trust him at all being penciled in as a starter in a given season considering he's been mostly injured his entire freaking career. I understand he has a high ceiling but yeah, we have so much starting depth I'd prefer him to be traded as part of a package for a bit bat.  Otherwise, try him out in the pen - maybe pitching more frequently will actually keep him in a little bit better condition.  who knows.

I am the conductor of the trade pitching for CF train so I get it. Problem is he's likely not the centerpiece unless he comes back and throws 10 scorching starts in AAA. Everyone is going to try and buy low on him until more information is available. On paper, it makes most sense to use Pablo/Meyer/Cabrera/Eury as they need a real impact bat. We'll see what they eventually do. It really needs to be soon as doing the trade in May versus end of July is a lot of extra games you can potentially win.

To note, I am still on board right now for going all-in and trading Pablo/Cooper for Marsh/prospects. Call up Meyer immediately, Floro is coming to help also, Cabrera is coming quickly after that, go pick up another right handed bat to replace Cooper for cheap (someone is available who can hit lefties off the bench), wait on Burdick/Bleday/Lewin, and also.... wait on Sixto who may be a real weapon out of the bullpen come August. They'd still have plenty of arms. Hell maybe Eury is the fast riser they hope.

This Ward guy on the Angels is outrageous. They also have Adell and some other OF guy who is pretty guy. Walsh/Cooper can easily play 1st/4th OF. There is a huge win-win potential here. The Angels rotation would look amazing with Ohtani, Syndergaard, Pablo, Sandoval, and basically Detmers/Lorenzen throwing 220+ combined innings and Suarez being a real bullpen weapon. Major injury proofing for Syndergaard also. Maybe these dum dums will each realize they have what the other needs short and longterm.

We’ve disagreed on some things in the past, but this, I wholeheartedly agree with. Brandon Marsh/Angels is and always was a great trade partner for Miami. I understand why they didn’t part with Meyer 1 for 1, but there’s a deal to be made here

Yes - Ward was the missing depth (conceptually). If he is a "solid dude" out there for them, they can live without Marsh and trust Adell-Trout-Ward, with Walsh/Cooper popping out to a corner as needed.

They'd need a better 2B/SS (maybe.... Fletcher can move around) and a backup CF (or maybe Ward is good?), but they can figure that out. That's 3 superstars, 2 potential studs, 2 solid starters, whatever Ward is, and whatever 2B is for their starters, with Cooper and Wade off the bench which is pretty good. If they find a good backup OF which shouldn't be too hard, this is money. Hell, maybe that is DLC??? That works actually and they could roll with him to July and replace if he sucks then. I think they'd be pretty happy with Ohtani, Noah, Pablo, Sandoval, Dietmers/Lorenzen, and kicking Suarez to the bullpen. They could extend Pablo for years and years cheap.

Pablo/Cooper/DLC for Marsh/TBD prospects. This also has the added benefit of lowering Marlins payroll so they can Scrooge McDuck into a swimming pool somewhere.

This one always made sense. Ward really helps it if both of them are willingly to accept their flaws and deal from strength.
