Why does twitter thing Bendix had put together a good bullpen from this scrap heap Dfa trash pile ? Most of these guys are terrible. Tinoco and maybe Cronin are only two that look half decent

Maybe because the bullpen this year has been the same or slightly better than last year and we don’t have a true closer. The bullpen ranked 20th in ERA in 2023 (4.37) & 20th this year (4.21).  The W/L ratio is slightly better after the trades so they must be holding their own.  The Dodgers can make a lot of bullpens look bad after given up 20 runs.  Your good may not reflect what is actually good under the circumstances.

Also, the bullpen got shelled in the playoffs with an ERA over 5 last year.

You’re right Buuuuuuuuut I doubt the 2023 bullpen was built for the playoffs.

Figures, bullpen just gave up 4 runs after my post.

What happens when you remove Puk and Scott out of the 24 numbers?

my point marlins twitter thinks Bendix is some kind of bullpen wizard most of these Dfa guys he’s grabbing pitch like it.

timoco looks great, McMillon did too before injury.

I guess it all makes sense in context there taking for first milb pick

Puk 23’ (3.97) 24’ (4.30) ERA. Puk stunk in the pen beginning of the year, stunk in the rotation (not counting) but was lights out a month before the trade. All things considered probably a push.

Scott 23’ (2.31) 24’ (1.18) ERA with 33 less  IP this year.  That’s something but it’s not a much maybe one spot difference.

One thing I would be wrong on is if the bullpen before the trades had an ERA of 3-3.50 and has badly rising after the trades 5-6.00 currently putting it around 4.21.  If so then you have a point.

The Marlins announced that they have selected right-hander Shaun Anderson to their roster. Right-hander George Soriano has been optioned to Triple-A Jacksonville in a corresponding move. The club already had a 40-man vacancy.

Lindgren cleared waivers and was outrighted back to Triple-A Jacksonville, according to the MLB.com transaction tracker.

https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/09/marlins-designate-jose-devers-for-assignment.html

Devers has cleared outright waivers and been outrighted to Triple-A, according to the Transactions Tracker on Devers’s MLB.com profile page.

https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/09/braxton-garrett-suffers-setback-in-elbow-rehab.html

Marlins left-hander Braxton Garrett was seemingly poised to be activated from the injured list to start tomorrow’s game against the Braves, but MLB.com’s Christina De Nicola was among those to note that the southpaw suffered a setback in his rehab today that will bring his 2024 season to a close. Garrett reportedly “felt something” in the back of his elbow after throwing a bullpen session yesterday, and the lefty is now set to undergo testing and turn his attention towards a healthy return to the mound in 2025.

Can't wait for Braxton TJ now....

So every year for as long as I remember me and my best friend have a bet about who will have more wins.. my Marlins or his White Sox. Tihs year, before the year even started, my buddy put in a stipulation that if the white sox set the loss record that I end up losing the bet.. i blindly accepted. DAMN IT! I can't even win a win/loss bet against the White Sox this year!!!
