January 10, 200422 yr I can't stand soccer. It's boring as hell. I'd rather watch baseball, football, basketball, or hockey instead. And I'm hardly a fan of hockey.
January 10, 200422 yr *ignores last comment* So, yeah... Soccer is the best sport. That is right along with baseball. Ronaldo, Romario and Bebeto from Brazil are great... They are really something else to watch. I have been really distant from the soccer world, because no one in my house likes it (they are Cubans and they only play baseball). I used to sit and bite my nails along with my dad and brother watching the regular season soccer games in Colombia... It is more fun when there is people around you who enjoy it as much as you do. I have tried to get my husband to watch Soccer with me, but it has been an impossible task... Oh well! *rides in to the sunset*
January 10, 200422 yr The game's too low-scoring to be interesting. Why do you think they celebrate after each goal? It's because it takes so long to get one.

January 10, 200422 yr how am i not shocked with the culture of so many people in this nation today. same reason the Spurs are 'boring' dont score points and that equates to boring. give me a damn break. at one time a regular baseball game was 2-1, 3-2 etc.....

Like i said, i can watch anything else.
January 10, 200422 yr i am waiting for a soccer team to come to San Antonio. I might go check them out then. If you watch soccer and actually somewhat understand the game and watch a good team playing, you dont have to score for something to be exciting.
January 10, 200422 yr I love "La Selecci?n Colombia". It would be a crime for me to pick otherwise... However, they suck lately and I do not even remember one of the team member names that are on there now. I loved the team when they had Valderrama and Iguita on it... Right now, as usual, am rooting for Brazil and hoping Argentina drops dead The glory years... Colombia had the #1 rank team coming into '94 world cup but their egoes got too big.A team like that doesn't come around too often but I hope I'm wrong. :unsure :
January 10, 200422 yr I also became a fan of Senegal because their awsome display of skills in the previous wolrd cup.
January 10, 200422 yr Soccer is boring. I need a sport to be fast paced. Hard hitting. Have an actual strategy. ala....American Football Built on the cornerstones of Lambeau, Halas, Rozelle, and Paul Brown. Continued with the traditions of the Eagles, Packers, Cowboys, Bears, Giants, Redskins, Browns and teams of such. Fast paced. An emotional thrill ride. Every game means something in the aspect of the 16 game schedule. They don't decide playoffs in series' they decide them on who shows up on Sunday. Blue Collar guys like Nitschke, Bednarik, Nugerski, Favre, Starr, Marino, Tarketon, Butkus, Ditka, Baugh, are players that showed up on Sunday not for a paycheck, but for the thrill of competition and the prospects of winning. Its hard to describe, but football is truly the sport of sports. Where men come to play and leave it all out on the field. Every hit, every snap, every run, pass, tackle, kick mean something. Thats the thrill and drama America craves, and that I crave. The edge of your seat thrill ride. Thats the whole reason football is so great. To you Texan watching the Cowboys is a thrill, drama. To me watching the Green n Gold take the field is drama, its suspense as it is for the Fins fans here when their men in Aqua storm out. It's the kind of thing Americans and only Americans can truly love.

It was a shame what happened in 94... Really dark times. Anyway, I think Brazil is constantly good and never dissapointing...
January 10, 200422 yr Soccer is boring. I need a sport to be fast paced. Hard hitting. Have an actual strategy. Have an actual strategy *shakes head* Shall I explain to the retarded-soccer-challenged like you and Pubes that you are so f***ing wrong with that statement it is not even funny?????
January 10, 200422 yr I have just have one statement for those who hate Soccer: If it's so f***ing boring why waste your time reading anything about it? All I'm wondering right now is will Mathis actually show up for THe U.S. in 06?
January 11, 200422 yr Author Soccer is boring. I need a sport to be fast paced. Hard hitting. Have an actual strategy. ala....American Football hahah soccer is back and forth action at all times ... it doesnt stop for 90 minutes its like a small battle , your team can dominate for 90 minutes or the other way around, secondly its the most hard hitting sport... try running as fast as you can, and get tackled along the way, must be fun to fly around for a couple of meters. also soccer is all about imagination and thinking as fast as possible, knowing where someone is gonna be and when and whatnot ... for some reason its the most beutiful sport in the world... the most creative for sure and since your all talking about what teams you follow during the world cup ITALY, ITALY , ITALY ... and please i just hope brazil never wins another one ... i hate them, i respect their skills but i dont like them besides that i also like Argentina, Czech, Spain

It is just not gonna happen... They are the best Soccer team in the world... Sorry to burst your bubble.
January 11, 200422 yr also soccer is all about imagination and thinking as fast as possible, knowing where someone is gonna be and when and whatnot ... for some reason its the most beutiful sport in the world... the most creative for sure i think ur a littl e bias dood. most creative? lolol dood all u gotta do is dribble a ball with ur foot, pass and score? how creaitve is that? lolol how bout football and all those plays and baseball and all the diff pitches and plays i think ur a lil bias dood.
January 11, 200422 yr I dont really follow soccer that much but i like Real Madrid. David Beckman - stud that all
January 11, 200422 yr dood all u gotta do is dribble a ball with ur foot, pass and score? how creaitve is that? Can you do that? I bet you couldn't even get the ball where you want to even if you pushed it with your hands!

Because it's so fast paced and the field is so large you need to be on your toes to make the right decision or your team will get burned. And you don't have timeouts or downs or the break between pitches so a coache's adjustements may take 2 minutes to reach a player. Doesn't mean there's not strategy involved. There's all kinds of formations and tactics. Cautious defense by the Italians, long balls by the British sides, touch and go passing by the eastern europeans, jaw dropping ball handling by the Brazilians and Argentinians. Up the middle passing against teams with tall players. What amount of pressure to apply and when. Best part is watching who wins the war of attrition. Not unlike other sports the game is decided by who makes the most of their opponent's mistakes.

I bet you couldn't even get the ball where you want to even if you pushed it with your hands! doesnt matta if i can do it or not.. point is its not as 'creative' as the little boy who told me its the most creative of all of teh sports says it is.
