March 31Mar 31 This team has barely scored any runs against two of the worst pitching staffs in baseball. This might be a very long year with this lineup

March 31Mar 31 Keep starting paddack and Junk and trading top 30 SPs for utility infielders and keep the good pitchers down for service time. Love being a marlin fan sometimes lol Edited March 31Mar 31 by pollythewog
March 31Mar 31 Junk just needs to keep us in the game until the bullpen comes into play. He doesn't walk many but there is not enough swing and miss. Think he is better than Paddack at this point but both are placeholders until our young studs are ready.

They easily could have signed actual mlb pitchers this year from our billionaire owner. I get they’re not trying to compete this year and I get the plan to get young guys in, but not so fun at times

Not taking into account who is in the CWS team (they’re really bad except marakaumi who our lineup desperately needs) and their swgstr rates + where paddack was in the zone when he was in the zone it was a shitty start and paddack sucks

Anyway, if you give up 2 homers and still have a decent FIP that would actually be a good sign. Low sample size FIP is usually bad for when the home run rate is unsustainably low (like zero homers in 3 starts or something). Paddack is not going to give up 2 homers per 5 innings over the whole season unless he sustains a season enfing injury before his next start.
