March 31 vs the Sox, no not them, the other Sox

Would have been a great sport for George Soriano or Josh Simpson, lol.

BTW, Soriano is with the Cards. Simpson is with Mariners AAA team. Marlin legend Laurbert Arias is with Veracruz in Mexico.

Kind of curious. If a pitch is called a ball is the batter allowed to challenge it?

That might come in handy if intentional walks weren't automatic now and the the intentional walk process was started with 2 strikes already in the count and and the pitcher threw one of the i-walk pitches too close to the strike zone.

Is there any other situation when it might come in handy? Trying to delay a game to get a rainout win?

I didn't mention it last night, but I was actually at the game yesterday. Only silver lining was that my friend's 13 year old cousin got a foul ball. He and his parents are from Germany and it was their first ever baseball game.

Good. They've forgiven us for all those German tourists that were killed around here 25-30 years ago.

Why use Fairbanks tho lol

So that we can't use him tonight when we need him, obviously!

......and we have an off day tomorrow. Maybe that's the logic, that if he has to pitch today, we have an off day tomorrow? I was confused when I saw him pitching too.
