Oh Well, let's turn our attention to...

I think adding Mondesi and Maddux for a yr. instead of spending 13 million on just Vlad is actually a better idea.

Now that everyone has this Vlad thing out of their system, hopefully the Hot Stove Season will heat up a little more and the player movement will pick up a little.

I think Maddux is the best option if we have the funds.

if we had the funds for vlad, we'll have the funds for Maddux.

Bring in Maddux. We need some bullpen help so Pavz can go help out the pen.

Maddux can easily win 15 games. I would love to have him, if not bring Kendall!

At first I was going to see we'd have trouble fitting Maddux into our rotation.

But we wouldn't. This man is one of the best pitchers in baseball history. He had a productive season last year.

Would he want to play here?

very veyr true. i would love to see him here cause then we could move pavano or willis to the bullpen. willis would be our lefty specialist so we would fill 2 needs at once. although it also depends on how much he wants.

Uhh...

Maddux would be our first starte, MAYBE second, only to Beckett. A crafty veteran such as himself would dominate in Florida, using the defense and stadium to his full advantage.

I still believe that Saurbeck is a MUST to fill-out our bullpen, and I like the idea of signing Mondesi. Not because of performance or blah blah blah, but because he will A) Push Hee Seop Choi to perform at the highest level in ST to keep his job, and B) If we get him, whether we're in contention or not, Raul will be expendable in July and WILL be traded away.

i forgot 2 add that he would play in a great pitcher's park and with a great defense. and hopefully he could teach penny to use his changeup a lot more so he could step into beckett's level.

And I just thought, imagine the impact Maddux would have on a growing superstar like Beckett, an almost there dominant righty in Penny, and a crafty right hander who is supposed to break out in Pavano, and a young emotional guy in the D-Train?

That signing would do us leaps and bounds, not only when he's on the mound, but the whole rotation will be better under his influence.

Their are a lot of great OF available next year when Conine will be another year older.

so he could step into beckett's level.

that would be something He has the stuff, and he has the mentality, he just needs to learn to mix it up and have confidence in every pitch.

He really does have a nice change-up. It's in the low-mid 80's, but it moves like a sinker, just like Beckett's.

If you just realized that A Veteran like Maddux would have a positive effect on the entire rotation, I worry for you :p

Beckett certainly doesn't have a problem with his confidence :lol

I just don't know and don't really want to find out how much longer Jeff can be this productive, although he did have his best season in a while last year.

I'm confident, but I can't say I'm not skeptical.

Just say NO to Maddox, he is done...

no way.

He could easily win 15 games in the Pro, with a great defense.

But his biggest plus is probably how he could help the rest of our staff. He could work with everyone, and make them even better.
