January 12, 200422 yr http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=1706367 Must have been announced sometime this morning. That is one decent rotation now.
January 12, 200422 yr Author Holy cow. NL Central got interesting again. This certainly brings up the debate now: Who has the better rotation: Houston or Chicago?
January 12, 200422 yr The psuedo Yankees eh? Should be fun. Did he get his Hummer like he was promised I wonder?
January 12, 200422 yr Wow there going to be some interesting races this year in baseball. Houston now has a killer staff. If their hitters bagwell, hildago, and berkman can stay healthy they got a good chance of upsetting the Cubs as divisional champs.
January 12, 200422 yr i still think hidalgo gets moved and the astros take their chances with jason lane in right. morgan ensberg is developing as a good hitter as well and dont forget Kent as the other big RBI member of that team. not only is their rotation stacked, but so is their lineup. who out of hte cubs and astros is better all around, i am not sure yet.
January 12, 200422 yr Pettitte is overrated, Wood is definitely better. Roger was mediocre with the yankees (check his statistics), but he had a good year last year so this is a good signing for houston. However, his signing proves two things: 1. He will be a red sox in the hall, but he should be a blue jay 2. He is a money grubbing gun for hire, what I and all of boston have been saying all along. He took his average salary of at least 11,000,000 dollars, his world series ring, and booked. What a bastard, stupid jerks at nyyfans.com, does he "bleed pinstripes" now? Jerks. Yet they hate david wells, and he was superb with us.

Oh yeah I knew I forgot someone in Kent. Yeah I've heard they wanna move Hildago but its going to be hard because he is set to make 12 million next year and in 2005 15 mil with a 2 milllion buyout.
January 12, 200422 yr For once I agree with SorianoFan. Astros blow. for once i agree clearly AP is overated he aint winning no 20 games at minute made park..... and his ERA will loom around 3.50 to 4.00..... as 4 Clemens why?????? why?????? you threw away ya legacy i always wantted to remember you as the guy us MARLIN fans gave a standing ovation to...... to..... and you left the game with ya head up high..... now ya done ruined you f***ing fat prick....... Jordan blew his legacy, u blew yours..... Mario blew his...!!!!!!!!! "okay DOM calm down"" NL CENT isnt intersting its boring... it will always be boring..... the Pirates suck ass... the CUbs will choke..... the reds will be the Marlins of 2000..... and the Stros will win the diviison cuz this year Oswalt will be the best pither in the NL and will be in the NL cy Young race with our boy Beckett......
January 12, 200422 yr One thing going for Pettite and Clemens is that they won't choke. They have been there, and done that (playoffs and WS) a lot. I consider both to be good pitchers in high pressure situations. In addition, Celemens is one of those guys that will improve everyone around him and can be huge guidance for the Astros young guns. .Clemens is a fierce competitor and he is not going to Houston to pocket 5 additional million. He will give his 100% as we are used to see. . .
January 12, 200422 yr It's good to know that we should be the ones to decide Clemens' legacy and not him. I don't like Rocket at all, but this clearly not about money. He could have got more to return to New York. Some people need to get off their damn high horse. The guy thought he was done, he changed his mind. He has the right to do so. Who are you to tell him when he should retire?
January 12, 200422 yr clemens is coming back to houston because a) he is going home b) his momma gave her blessing. c) and most important, his kids want it.
January 12, 200422 yr Clemens w/ Astros = Jordan w/ Wizards Yeah... cause Clemens hasn't already played with 3 teams. And he sat out the last 2 years too.

I reserve the right to hope that Roger Clemens metaphorically falls on his big fat ass, or better yet, has said ass thunked by a 100-MPH fastball from Marky Mark Prior.
January 12, 200422 yr Clemens w/ Astros = Jordan w/ Wizards keep dreaming cubs fan. another team you wont be able to beat come playoff time.
