January 12, 200422 yr John Daly- I was about 11 years old and he was staying with some people in my neighborhood because the GGCC golf tournament was in town and he was playing. My friend, my little brother and I all decided to go ring the doorbell of the house he was at and see if we could get his autograph. The owner of the house answered the door and we asked is John Daly here. He was like yea come on in. So we stepped barely in the doorway. Off to the right I saw John and he was like come on in don't be shy. It was hilarious because its just what you might expect. He's havin a beer and watchin a Knicks playoff game and is just chillin on the couch. Anyway he was really nice and talked to us for like 15 minutes about golf and stuff. The funniest thing is that my little brother brought his entire golf bag with clubs in it over to the house to get autographed and he still has that golf bag with the autograph on it. Daly is usually looked at by the media as a bad guy and stuff because of his struggles with alcohol and gambling but he is an extremely nice guy in person.

Flasportsfan, The Reason their are so many Phillies is because I've met them all sometime in their AAA stints i didnt. taht comment was in response to there being a phillies bias. while there are a majority of phillies members on yoru list, there is also one basketball player that probably 90% of the kiddies here have never heard of and one football player that if he wasnt a dolphin they would never of heard of. besides rune is a phillie fan, so its to be expected, just like a marlin fan putting together a list with the majority of marlin or ex marlins on it.
January 12, 200422 yr Mike Figga. He was a catcher for the Columbus Clippers in '98. We formed the Figga Fan Club on a whim, had a banner and everything, a signature chant (Hi! Ho! Mike Figga! AWAAAY!). Anyway, we waited for him after a game and the guy couldn't have been nicer. We ended up becoming good friends with the guy, left us tickets for every game, even gave us a ride home from a game just to ensure we'd be there. He got called up to the Yanks in September and we got to go to Baltimore to see a couple games and he took us out to dinner. Those 2 games just so happened to be Cal's last game of the streak and the first he didn't play in, which ranks #1 on the greatest sports moment I've been apart of live. Anyway, Figga started '99 with the Yanks, got waived, and then spent the rest of the year with the O's, hit his one major league home run in Kansas City. He's been with the Red Sox, Cardinals, Pirates, Dodgers, and Devil Rays systems since. He played independent ball last year. I still think he could have been a solid major league catcher, he just never got the chance. -- Mike Lowell, Shane Spencer, Chris Singleton, and D'Angelo Jimenez were also quite nice. I met them all through Figga.

January 12, 200422 yr Dan Giancola. You've probably never heard of him. He was an undrafted free-agent kicker that went to Bills camp a few years back. Me and my friends called him over for an autograph as practice was ending, and he obliged. He proceeded to talk to us and anyone else that came over for about 5-10 minutes. When all the other players had gone into the locker room, he was still out there, signing for everyone.

January 12, 200422 yr didnt chapman play for the heat, and end up inpheonix? I'm pretty sure he was a Bullet too. He went unconcious one year in the first round of the playoffs for Phoenix, couldn't miss. That was awesome.
January 12, 200422 yr Dontrelle Willis- very shy, but very nice, talked to him in some deserted little diner on Oakland Park Blvd. before he did a signing across the street. Sandy Koufax- really nice guy, got a chance to meet him a couple years back at a banquet in L.A. Carl Erskine- very nice as well, My friends uncle is Rich Altman who's a promoter and organizes autograph shows so I got to sit at a table for a couple hours and hand items for Carl to sign, lol...It was nice though, he's very talkative Jeff Torborg- talked to him for about a minute on the way back to his car after a game at Ft Lauderdale last spring.
January 12, 200422 yr Ryan Johnson is a sweetie. He's quiet and shy, but very polite. Pudge was very quiet as well, but he made sure everyone left with a smile on their face and an autograph in their hand. Roberto Luongo never says no for a picture. Todd Simpson is a very talkative funny guy. I loved meeting him. Olli Jokinen is shy but very polite as well. He signed like 5 autos for me. Paul Laus is very funny and pretty talkative. Ray Whitney is very very nice. I had a great time meeting him.
January 12, 200422 yr I met Mercury Morris one time at a WTAM football game against Eastern NM (yeah, I know, its podunk). Awesome dude just sitting by himself so I figured, what the hell. Hung out with him for the whole 2nd half.
January 12, 200422 yr Nicest that I've met is Art Monk, formerly of the Redskins. He's also one of the most intelligent people I've ever met. Monte Coleman, also formerly of the Redskins, gets an honorable mention. I've met Pete Rose, Joe Theisman, and Gary Carter, but Brooks Robinson is still the biggest jerk I've ever met.
