MIAMI -- The Florida Marlins are pursuing free agent Wil Cordero as a reserve first baseman and outfielder.

Cordero hit .278 in 130 games last season for Montreal with 16 home runs and 71 RBIs.

"We've had some interest in Wil," Marlins general manager Admin Beinfest said. "He has power from the right side. He's a veteran player who can come off the bench. Whether we're able to get something done, I don't know. There are ongoing discussions."

I THINK THIS IS GREAT GO FISH

Cordero is a bench player. Purely depth. Choi will start. As for Pudge, there was ZERO chance of him ever returning to the Marlins. I accurately said that from the start. The fact that Pudge didn't wait til May 1 is proof of how correct I was. :hat The champ

lololololol The Champ :hat = The Chump :disguise2 can't dispute the undisputed truthteller. I don't know if I noted this yet, if I have, please forgive the repetitiveness. I, and only I, said there was NO way Pudge would sign with the Marlins. Not 25% not 5%. ZERO chance. I don't like to brag about such things, but for the purpose of educating our baseball-challenged market, I do so out of the kindness of my heart. :hat The champ

Why hasn't there been more interest in Wil Cordero by other teams? Perhaps it has to do with his arrest for suspected drunk driving. Between Cordero and Castro the Marlins may redefine the term "pen" when it comes to professional ballplayers (j/k). Not only is Castro scheduled for trial, it turns out so is Cordero...

Ex-Indians player's trial to be postponed

MEDINA - The Feb. 10 trial of former Cleveland Indians player Wil Cordero -- who was charged with driving drunk Dec. 18 following a collision on Interstate 71 in Medina County -- has been delayed.

A hearing to determine what evidence may be used at trial has been set for March 29 in Medina Municipal Court.

Cordero, 32,who now plays for the Montreal Expos, refused to take a breath test following the accident and was charged with driving under the influence and failing to maintain an assured clear distance. He is free on $500 bond.

this topic is NOT ABOUT PUDGE.

why even mention him repeatin?

your act is growing thin and you are on thin ice...because right now....you are looking like nothing more than a troll with your constant comments on how you were right about Pudge in every topic.

This is at least the third topic you have ruined in a day that I have had to close.
