February 4, 200422 yr I haven't heard anything since his little incident a little while ago. Is anybody gonna sign him or will he wait out the year. Is there a chance that the marlins will pick him up again and if so I think it should be a two or three yr contract.
February 4, 200422 yr Last report was that Urbina is still without a contract, and is willing to sit out the year if he doesn't get the $4-5M he is seeking.
February 4, 200422 yr The incident last week won't help him at all. ya never know remember the saying theres no such thing as bad publicity obviously that doesnt work all the time (see: kobe), but ya never know how it would affect uggy btw: his price tag is more of a roadblock than his arrest
February 4, 200422 yr If he hasn't been signed by the time pitchers and catchers report, or at the latest by the end of ST, I think he will end up back here.

We already have Benitez to close, and spending even $2 mil on a setup man (which would be roughly half of what he is currently asking) is quite the risk for a team on the budget we have.

I don't see Urbina back here at all. He made a point at the end of the season that he expected a pay raise...thus the reason for no interest from the Marlins.

I'd actually say that if he's going to settle for anywhere, he'd probably take the White Sox because he's really close with Ozzie. Not to say that coming back is out of the question...

February 4, 200422 yr if his price tag doesnt go down, urbina wont play next year his last options would be to either take a yr off or to play outside of the u.s.
February 4, 200422 yr Espn keeps saying the Astros are his strongest suitor to this point. Apparently they aren't completely sold on Dotel closing.
February 4, 200422 yr Uggy will be sitting in venezuela till he gets a contract. he said he wont mind if he stayed in Venezuela. Another Greedy guy.
February 4, 200422 yr Uggy will be sitting in venezuela till he gets a contract. well thats pretty obvious I think

Well if the Astros want to pay him and that makes them stronger (against the hated Cubs) it's better than him being in our division where we'd face him much more frequently. Frankly I'd like to see him in the American league, perhaps in Baltimore.
February 4, 200422 yr i thought i read an article about him and his agent hopefully waiting for a call from the marlins
