February 7, 200422 yr Just got back... the autograph line was insane!!! I waited 2 hours each time I went on that line and the last session was the most disappointing to me... I waited 2+ hours and I ended up in line with Jeff Loria... that was A, Mckeon was in B and I had my mom get me his auto, and in C was Burnett. I went to the 2nd session I believe, and that was A, Conine, B, Lowell, and C, Gonzalez. I got all 3 because my family split up. My knees are shot and I think I'm going to bed now.
February 7, 200422 yr Spent quite a bit of time in the tunnel. That was the place to be to see the Marlins executives and the players. My sons got autographs from both Loria and Beinfest. They were both quite nice. Loria was on his way to the afternoon press conference. Beinfest talked with us for a few moments on the way back. We got autographs from Brian Banks and Mike Redman first thing in the morning - they were passing out doughnuts at the entrance to the Marlins FO. Both were joking around with us. Also saw Dontrelle, Lowell, AJ, Pavs, Tejera, Spooney, Beckett and McKeon. Got Pavs autograph, and almost Dontrelle. Got to spend time talking with Craig Minervini. My son got his autograph as well as Tommy Hutton's and Len Kasper's. We had a lot of fun touring the locker room and the press boxes. Got in a few swings in the indoor batting cages. Overall a great day. Had alot of fun, and will definitely go back next year.
February 7, 200422 yr I showed up with my sign. I got to meet Chefbob and LCyberlina. Nice meeting you two. I had a little chat with David Samson. He signed my Sports Illustrated for me. He's really cool. I got to get pics with Niner and Brad. They were both SUPER SUPER nice. Brad smelled good. I got to chat with Len Kasper and Craig Minnervini (sp?). They were also very cool. I hope you all had fun.
February 7, 200422 yr I also was really disappointed in not getting any autographs because of the long lines. I also was waiting in line to take a pic with Conine but as I was nearing the front he left and they replaced him with Billy the Marlin, :mad : I did get a picture with Tejera though. The locker room and press box tour were awsome, real cool to see all the jerseys hanging up and stuff in there locker. I took some swings in the batting cage also :lol bad pitching :whistle I caught the end of the 2nd town hall meeting with Lowell, Gonzo, and Beckett. I also went to the VIP town hall meeting with Loria, Samson, Beinfest, Spooney, Pavano, Burnett, and Dontrelle this was the highlight of the day as they were just funny as hell, Burnett was cracking jokes on Pavanos hitting the entire time and they all looked like they were having fun.
February 7, 200422 yr The autograph coupon lines were RIDICULOUS!! We didn't even waste our time in line. We got to see Jack and Niner and Brad. If we would've gotten in line, we wouldn't have seen them.
February 8, 200422 yr We got autographs from Brian Banks and Mike Redman first thing in the morning Mike Redman? bandwagoner!
February 8, 200422 yr did anyone see that white chalk board in the marlins clubhouse? it was toward the entrance, did anyone notice that someone wrote "pudge is a traitor"?
February 8, 200422 yr did anyone see that white chalk board in the marlins clubhouse? it was toward the entrance, did anyone notice that someone wrote "pudge is a traitor"? When asked about Pudge.....and you knew someone would. Beinfest said the only reason Pudge is not a Marlin this year was because of the money. During their negotiations Pudge refused to come off of his $10M/yr demand, and the Marlins were neither prepared to or interested in giving him $10M/yr.
February 8, 200422 yr Did you guys see a lot of people buying tickets? I would say that the season tix tables were busy. yay...
February 8, 200422 yr This is my first time at any fan fest ever. I was not a fan of any sports team last year. I practically begged my husband to take me. I wanted to go and see some of the players live. We got there around 12 and met Pudgefan and Maxx. The rest of the guys were missing in action. Pudgefan said she hold the sign for a long time, until she gave up. Nevertheless, she got to take pics. At least she saw Conine and Penny... I went to the locker room tour and saw that Willis has really ugly "chancletas" While we were in line. We saw Mike Lowell, Alex Gonzalez and Becket, who were going to the Press Conference room. I was upset at my husband because he didn't tell me on time to get my camera ready and take a picture of them. Lowell is cuter in person and has always a smile on his face; he really looks like a happy dude, plus he is really tall (I calculate 6 feet or close to that). Beckett on the other hand (sorry to the ladies who love him) is butt ugly. He's really tall and his hair makes him look like a homeless guy in a Marlins t-shirt. :lol I really was not going to buy the tickets. My hubby wanted to buy them per game. However, we walked up to the 200 level and went inside the Infield Box seats.... We fell in-love with two available seats there... Row 23. I got more than I bargained for. My hubby bought us a 41 weekend game plan that includes... "Opening Day"! Yupi!
February 8, 200422 yr very dissapointing! I was in line since 8:30 and when the first autograph session began, i got the A line ticket, Ugh. I had to go with Tejera! While beckett was signing in Line C. Then i went to the other one were Cordero, Willis, Penny and spooney were signing. Again i got line A and got Penny to sign for me ( At least one good player). In line B Was D-Train, i got my a girl to get me willis's autograph in a card. So in total i got 2 brad penny's sign and 1 dontrelle after i waiting in that soaking wet rain.
February 8, 200422 yr Beckett on the other hand (sorry to the ladies who love him) is butt ugly. He's really tall and his hair makes him look like a homeless guy in a Marlins t-shirt. :lol how dare you!!! oh you said ladies and im a straight man, my bad. carry on :thumbup seriously though, glad to hear you had a great time
February 8, 200422 yr I went to the locker room tour and saw that Willis has really ugly "chancletas" While we were in line. That was hilarious...they were wrapped in duct tape and had the letter DW on them...so nobody would steal them......LOL I really was not going to buy the tickets. My hubby wanted to buy them per game. However, we walked up to the 200 level and went inside the Infield Box seats.... We fell in-love with two available seats there... Row 23. I got more than I bargained for. My hubby bought us a 41 weekend game plan that includes... "Opening Day"! Yupi! Congrats and welcome to the group...you are now an official "convert" (former bandwagoner) LOL

February 8, 200422 yr PM81: YEA BABY! I had fun meeting you and chatting for a bit. Me too! :thumbup I wish we could've stayed longer. However, my hubby was not about eating a hot dog for lunch. He needed more for his belly! I went to the locker room tour and saw that Willis has really ugly "chancletas" AHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!! You saw them too!!Yes! I took a pic. I'm going to post that one and the one I took of Mike, Becket and Alex in the Press Conference.
February 8, 200422 yr Max and I just went out to where the seats are and just sat right over the Marlins dugout and talked about what a great season we had (duh) and we can't wait for next season to start and go to games with our friends. It's gonna be an exciting year. Oh yea and he was laughing at my Jose Lima story. That's something to share at another time. LOL

Exactly! Who the hell cares for a chicken scratch that only you know it's original anyway??? :confused I would have loved to take pics with the players though... Well maybe some other time. I have a full season ahead of me.
