well derek has just signed a 3 year 22.5 mill contract with the cubs..u may ask y i posted this in the marlins forums well thats cuz in my heart derek is still a marlin and will always be..hes to easily forgotten and is the player i hated to see go the most.. and thats y it kills me to see him wearing this....

say wut u want Lcastillo but u are just in denial like the many others..give lee his credit! just cuz hes not a marlins doesnt mean u gotta rag on everyone that leaves...no 1 said a thing about pudge till he left..ppl can be suck hypocrites...no matter what u say u know lee is better and will always be better than choi period..

I dont hear anyone ragging on Redman.

 

Sure, It would've been nice to have Lee, but to keep Lee the team would've had to make sacrifices that could've cost us. Lee Leaving will not effect our team...copy and print that.

 

thinking logically, I and any other fan that realized the situation accurately wouldnt argue that Lee for Choi is a good move that would help the team

lee=8 mill??? ummm he only makes 8 mill in his final year and only 5 mill his first year and 7 his second..imo hes well worth the 5 mill and 7 mill and we would not have to sacrifice anything cuz what did we do with the money we offered pudge? nothin that money could have gone to Lee. we used the money to sign some backups and still have money left

he did not have that contract with FLa, and his possible arbritration number was presumed to be as much as $8 million. we will never know if he would have won or whatever but in the logn run getting a servicable first baseman in Choi who makes scale freed up money to make sure all the pitchers ( Penny Pavano AJ ) would not have to be traded or non tendered. it will always be a matter of opinion so good for Lee and good managemnt by Loria and Beinfest...

Yeah but we have also have Stokes in the minors who can be just as good as Lee and now we have Choi who also could be as good as Lee. Even if the front office knew Pudge was gone for sure they probably would have still traded Lee.

Choi + Cordero= Around 2 mil (not sure how much Cordero signed or how much Choi is gettin even though I know it aint much)

Lee= 5.5 mil

 

Both of those guys can match Lee's offensive production from last year and the only thing that will sag is the defense but Choi aint no slouch at first according to scouts.
