Mar. 3 - ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports the Vikings have put out feelers to see if another team might be interested in trading for Moss, and the Miami Herald followed that up with a report that the Vikings and Dolphins have discussed a trade for the star receiver.

According to the Herald, the Dolphins didn't make an offer for Moss, but they did suggest some players they'd be willing to include in a deal. Among those names, the paper reports, were cornerback Sam Madison and defensive end Adewale Ogunleye.

However, Vikings VP Rob Brezinski denied the team is shopping Moss, telling the Herald, "Randy Moss is not for sale. No, we're not trying to trade Randy Moss."

well, he does have a house in Boca so he wouldnt be too far away

That is the biggest load of crap I've ever seen in my life! (no rip on Ramp, for I was about to put the story up, but I saw he already had it)

The Vikings wouldn't trade Moss if Green Bay offered them Favre, Green, Barnett, and a 1st and 2nd rd. pick!

Especially when Red McCombs is trying to sell the team. He doesn't have anything to sell but Moss!

What?

A QB that averages around 17 INT and 7 lost fumbles a season?

A RB whose always hurt?

A below average Offensive Line?

An amazingly bad defense?

Dolphins fans don't even DREAM about Moss, because he ain't comin.

Trust me I'd love to get Moss outta Minnesota because he kills the Pack. But still I'm realistic enough to know that Moss will be traded as soon as Favre is traded to the Bears and Lombardi comes from the dead and wins another Super Bowl.

here's more of the same from the arizona republic:

Vikings talk to Miami about Moss

The Vikings and Dolphins have discussed a trade that would send Randy Moss to Miami for a package that could include some combination of defensive end Adewale Ogunleye, cornerback Sam Madison, receiver Chris Chambers and draft picks, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reported.

According to sources close to the talks, the deal was discussed within the past few days, but there is no indication when or if either team will continue pursuing the deal. Sources told the Pioneer Press and the Miami Herald that the Vikings initiated the talks.

apparently we might have draft picks, ogunleye, chris chambers (noo), and sam madison on the table

While it does seem quite far fetched, anything is possible in the NFL these days. That'd be nice to land Moss in Miami but you still have to wonder, who the hell can throw it to him?

I'm amazed that anyone even considers believing this load of garbage.

Do you hear what your saying it would cost to get Moss???

2 1st Round Picks

Ogunleye

Madison

Chambers

There goes the Dolphins future right there!

Every football player from up north has a house in Florida or someplace warm!

The only reason Moss got a house there is because Cris Carter is his neighbor and they would train together.

no he isnt

but he lives about 2 blocks away

So not worth it. As great as Moss is, he's still a dick. And besides that, I would say that WR is the least important position on the field.

Now, trading Madison and Ogunleye for Moss might even save you some $$$, so I could be more understanding of that. Madison's overrated, but I fear the thought of someone else taking his place next year, cause he's till one of the better corners in the league. Ogunleye's going to get an assload of $$$ in FA.

I would not throw Chambers into the deal. And definitey not TWO first rounders. Maybe one.

Hmm, this wouldn't even be an issue had JJ not traded down so we could select John Avery, and now we're offering up half the team...

Nice work.

Uh...maybe you haven't seen how badly we draft players. I doubt it would hurt us much, considering we make the worst decisions. I mean, drafting a linebacker after trading for Junior Seau? Passing on Randy Moss and Anquan Boldin? Drafting Jamar Fletcher?

Well we all know Ricky Williams wasn't supposed to come to Miami...

How about this for a deal:

Madison

Eddie Moore

3rd Round Pick

for

Randy Moss

5th Round Pick

Why would the Vikings do that? I dunno why would the Saints trade Ricky Williams for Draft Picks.

None of those apply for Moss

Apparently they don't teach reading comprehension in Wisconsin.

Some combination of doesn't mean all. If they were to give half of that they would be crazy. Ogunleye and Madison fine, anything else no. Chambers won't leave, maybe a first round pick, which isn't that big of a deal, because the Phins draft worse than the Bengals.

these f***ing idiot pricks need to get their heads out of their asses and fix our god damn offensive line now with 4 nonexistant veteran linemen. forget moss.

Facts are as they stand...

The Vikings are not trading Moss.

Why?

They called a press conference of sorts the other day and said that.

Moss, his Agent, Mike Tice, and the Vikes VP Brezinski have all said Moss is staying.

End of story.

Believe me, the Packers would help the Vikes get rid of Moss, because Moss just eats us alive.

Bleh, bleh, bleh...

I know that the Moss trade is unlikely but who said that the Marlins were going to sign Pudge Rodriguez, or that the Panthers were going to get Pavel Bure, or that the Dolphins were going to get Ricky Williams, or the Yanks were going to get ARod, or the Skins-Broncos swapping Portis for Bailey. Things happen and the thought of improving their porous defense might pull them to trade Moss for Madison and Ogunleye.

Oh yeah, PRESS CONFERENCES DON'T MEAN ANYTHING IN SPORTS EXCEPT TO ANNOUNCE FINALIZED DEALS. I HAVE NEVER SEEN A FRIGGIN PRESS CONFERENCE THAT WAS TRUE TALKING ABOUT WERE NOT TRADING THIS AND THAT!

BTW: Sorry for the rant...
