  1. may not win, but we score some runs
  2. I have a feeling we break out this game.....
  3. Okay Dobber hit the ball
  4. Big man walks
  5. C'mon Senor Stanton
  6. Oh boy.....2 fast outs
  7. Light crowd....so is the national press going to smear the Gnats fans ?
  8. Poptart how where you able to distance yourself from the franchise ? I tried doing that the last couple of months, but just couldn't do it. I mean I still get that sinking feeling in my stomach when I watch the games, and can't shake being into the team. I'm asking an honest question, because I want to "quit them" as they said in Brokeback Mountain, but I just can't do it. It sure would be better for my blood pressure :haha
  9. It really is looking bleak this year. I was somewhat hopeful that many were being too pessimistic. I was going off their catching some lightning in the 2nd half of 2006 and thinking that Loria and company do know more than the amateurs that post on the board here. But the fact is, many who post on this board probably would be a not only a better owner, but a better GM's office as well. Just how low can it go with the Marlins before Selig will step in ?
  10. I bought tickets to game 2 with the Braves a few weeks ago, but refused to buy home opener tickets because I don't feel I want to participate in any "celebrations", because there is nothing to celebrate when it comes to the Marlins these days. It will only be the 5th home opener I will have missed.
  11. This season could truly be epic...... But in a really twisted bad way.
  12. Desperation requires giving a **** about the product on the field, which you can't tell me this organization honestly tried to put together this year. And yet they don't understand why the Home Opener isn't sold out.
  13. i hope @@@@ owner see s*** we have on field we see alot guys not ready to be big league their could few years from now But according to Samson, it was all about winning games, and last year we just didn't win........
  14. It's really pathetic right now to be a Marlins fan. I don't think even in 1998 I felt this hopeless.
  15. Marlins Baseball, catch our boredom
  16. Anyone know off-hand what the MLB record is for having shutouts in a year ? 25 ? 30 ? I can't imagine it could be more than that. But it looks like this team may try to break that record. Any word yet on Kotchman ?
  17. Big Slump as a hitters' group I'm afraid this isn't a slump, this is who they are and will be all year.
  18. Looks like another slow night with the bats..... And there goes Zimmerman
  19. I don't think he will be traded. And, no, it is not in the team's best interest to trade him and "start fresh". What is the point, to try to have success in a window before your young talent gets signed for $$$? What about Yelich, Fernandez? Isn't the hope that they become great players and in turn garner big saleries? If you think the Marlins' image to the rest of MLB and it's fans is bad now, how would it look if we traded Stanton, regardless of the return, which would probably be names that are not familiar to most fans? . But that is my point, do it now, take the image hit while you are already at your lowest, and then you have a chance to build something around Yelich & Fernandez. That is, if they are going to trade him.
  20. The Stanton situation. Do you think a decision has been made by the owner regarding Stanton ? If you do, and think its to trade him and not offer a contract, do you think it's Selig and his office that have held up any trade ? Personally I could see Selig as the holdup, but why would he delay it ? Right now the Marlins are more or less considered a black-eye in MLB. I understand that you want to retain some star-power on the team, but is this in the best interest of the Marlins and their future ? Is it also in the best interest of MLB ? Right now, the Marlins image is about as low as it can go. Wouldn't it be better for the future to just go ahead and get rid of Stanton and let the franchise completely start fresh, and see if the ownership of Mr. Loria can finally get it right ? If you prolong the inevitable trade of Stanton, it will only put the Marlins image back down at the bottom, and any image rebuilding that is done between now & when Stanton is traded, will be lost, and the Marlins image (and also that of MLB) will be tarnished and the rebuilding will have to start anew. It will set baseball back all over again. If its done now, then its a completely fresh start for Loria. Doesn't that make a little more sense than what is occurring now , if as has been widely speculated that Stanton is not going to be offered a contract by the Marlins and will be traded ? And if you are going to keep him, wouldn't you try your best now to get that extension done ? I have read that they haven't been pursuing this now that the season has started. I'm just confused over what their vision is, it just is not making a lot of sense.
  21. Turner was clearly the wise move...and if Fernandez, why not Yelich? I think most of us have guessed why it was Fernandez instead of Yelich, but no one really wants to say it out loud.
