Starting Pitchers getting better
love this quote from west after last nights game: "I try to throw a no-hitter every start," West said. "If a hit comes up, I try to throw a one-hitter. If two hits come up, I try to throw a two-hitter, and so on."

Starting Pitchers getting better
i'm really surprised at how well west is doing - i didn't think he was ready for the bigs, despite loving him as a prospect still remember the AFL young star game this past year - in his one inning he walked 3, struck out 3 and then decided to step out of the dugout for a curtain call ......... seems to be a pretty cocky kid who wants things to go perfect (see him smacking himself in the helmet after blowing that bunt) however, he rebounded well from his last start and has kept his control pretty decent i say unless it starts falling apart hard, let him figure it out in the majors - right now there aren't any better options and he seems to be mentally tough enough to do it

Randy Johnson Goes for Win #300
hopefully he doesn't get it with the rain delay he'll miss the marlins series and be on tap to go for #300 out here in AZ - now that would be a fun game

June 11th game--All 100 level seats for $10?
yeah - i've been to a lot of events where the TM fee is more than the ticket (like when you buy a berm seat to ST out here......... always get there early and buy the day of if it isn't sold out) awesome that they are running this promo (although I'm sure some who already paid full fare a little upset) ...... should definitely help provide a decent crowd and limit what i'm sure would be another lovely photo op of showing few fans in a football stadium in the middle of a workday afternoon in 90 degree heat

Tom Glavine released from Braves
i definitely think they just got a whole lot better - they've been playing close to .500 so this could definitely put them in the race for the post season i firmly believe hanson will be a beast ...... i saw him pitch a few times in the AFL and have seen few people as imposing on the mound i think his main challenge will be dealing with the bumps that he will take - he can't let it waver his approach and the way he just attacks batters

Tom Glavine released from Braves
hanson gets the call i hate that he pitches for the braves, but absolutely love him as a prospect

So I was on myspace.
looks like she's either a waitress at a theme restaurant (like hooters, tilted kilt, heart attack grill etc) or a promotions girl (radio, beer, tobacco) who has to smile nice and pose with anonymous guys

The Pfister Hotel haunts the Marlins
and from what you posted it's the pitchers talking - maybe the staff at large (although JJ and volstad have been good) are possessed by a spirit that calls for blowing leads and throwing pitches that must be driven over the wall

Airplane rides...
i don't mind airplanes and flight in general ..... it's commercial flying that stinks - very cramped up experience and not the friendlies of industries however, the trade off of a quick trip definitely offsets it, so Yay for me

Circumcision
nope, not at all just that in all things, just because something isn't said to your face, don't think that it isn't being said there are many things that women share in their circle that guys just wouldn't ever even think of discussing ........ especially when you get sisters involved ....... it's mind boggling that is the large point that i'm getting at the smaller point is that being uncut is still "odd" in this nation and as such will be a topic of converstation and the reaction will not always be favorable ........... the value to such thing is up to the individual - i could care less, but some might care deeply
-
Circumcision
because you overheard it once, they all find it odd and creepy. Well I'm convinced. oh, i've heard it more than once - that was just one example (the most recent one) in college you heard it as part of dorm chatter also the underlying point is you shouldn't be surprised that anonymous females are more turned off about it than the ones speaking to your face ....... the anonymous view has no attachment and no need to not hurt feelings ....... that was the main thing i'm getting at, just because you haven't heard any complaints doesn't mean that they aren't talking behind your back to their entire circle about how odd it is
-
Circumcision
they're only saying out loud what they're telling their girlfriends in private after you interact with a lady, her and all of her friends are discussing how odd it is that you're not cut and that it's a little creepy i've heard this conversation (my wife's sister was dating an australian guy) - it's not comfortable for anyone

Mike Jacobs Vs. Emilio Bonifacio
emilio just showed what he brings that jake didn't bring - stole 3rd base and then scored on an infield out

Brian Grant Has Parkinson's Disease
sad news http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/otl/news/story?id=4174877 Grant is not allowing his announcement to interrupt his day any more than, as of this moment, he is willing to let Parkinson's decide where he goes and who he sees. He sits in his game room, surrounded by ESPN's lights and cameras, explaining why he has ducked so many appearance offers and skipped his sons' basketball practices lately -- and why he won't any longer. As he does, the tremors noticeably diminish. "My greatest fear," he said, "is losing control of me. Having someone have to take care of me. But that was at the beginning." That was in January, after tests confirmed he had the disease, something he had suspected for a couple of months. He first noticed a recurring tremor in his left hand last summer while still living in Miami, where he played four seasons for the Heat. A neurologist attributed it to stress and expressed doubt that it was Parkinson's, a diagnosis Grant eagerly embraced. No one in his family had ever been afflicted, and he didn't know much more about it other than actor Michael J. Fox had it. That's all he wanted to know. sad news

Mike Jacobs Vs. Emilio Bonifacio
I can only disagree to a small extent I liked jacobs and hope he does well in KC. His bat could change a game when he connected and bring in multiple runs. However, I don't think it's fair to say that emilio brings nothing that jake didn't bring. Emilio has game changing speed. He can score on plays that other guys can't (let alone a fairly pedestrian runner like jacobs) Even in last nights game you could see how he affected Haren when he was on first. In the minors he was also very dangerous on the base paths. He just needs to get there more often ....... that's the problem with the guy. His best attribute is considerably held back by his worst.

yay - will keep him from being a gossip item in school and provide less chance of creeping chicks out

Philadelphia Road Trip Help?
i saw beckett pitch for the marlins in philly on dollar dog night - it was early in the season, the vet was empty and it was miserable weather - guys in my section kept joking that it was $6.25 beer day (which shows how long ago this was.........)

What Would You Rather have on your Pancakes
i don't think you can hold their influences against them let alone to the heights they were able to arrange and modify it aside from the music they also completely changed the way the game was played between the labels and the top flight artists

Philadelphia Road Trip Help?
it would be easy to connect into the orange line from either location - it's a pretty quick trip down to the sports complexes and you'll have a ton of other baseball fans on the trains with you monday nights will be quieter but there are a number of options of players to kill time between center city, the art museum area, university city or even south street have fun - i miss philadelphia at times
-
Philadelphia Road Trip Help?
philly stadiums are really easy to get to - you basically pick up the orange line off broad street and ride it all the way south if you are in center city philadelphia the blue line hits the orange line at city hall - septa buses, cabs, your legs can also help you connect to the subway does the megabus drop you off at the greyhound station? do you have a hotel, if so where?

SI.com article - 5 Worst Owners in Baseball
i have a hard time thinking of any team from 2003 that 6 years later has 1/3 of it's roster still in place using 8 positions players, 5 starters, a closer and a player of your choice (pivotal bench guy, bullpen arm, etc) that will get us to 15 is there any team trotting out 5 guys that they relied on 6 years ago? continuity is rare enough these days - then when you throw in financial reality and free agency it's tough even if the marlins had a rich owner, they were still in a bad revenue position with their lease - also a rich owner isn't necessarily going to cut a bad deal on a stadium just to get it done those top 3 pitchers will set you back at least $40M a season just for them - not to mention that all 3 have had a varying level of injury concerns over their careers add delgado/dlee and cabrera and they are up to $70M would money bags owner also overspent to keep dontrelle willis and how much salary space would that eat up? How about Pavano or Penny - wouldn't he want to keep them as well? $9M a year for Juan Pierre as well?! How about $12M for lowell? $4M for Loop?

New Stadium Construction Info.....
when the AC is on it's definitely sealed up tight - the panels in the outfield are closed during those games there are games where they'll do a mix though it's just too big, too much of a cavern it's very nice and sleek - but just gives off a dim feeling - places like safeco are so much nicer with or without the roof just my opinion though as someone who also has been there many times under all conditions

New Stadium Construction Info.....
I thought the pool in Arizona was slowly being phased out as it was impractical/not popular anymore? Anyways, I like it for us, just because it is not a feature found in many ballparks. they did a remodel to it ..... the novelty was definitely fading and demand was way down the remodel has sparked more life into it with there being more focus on the hot tub element hopefully the marlins stadium does a better job of bringing the outside in than arizona ....... it's a nice ballpark and all, but it has a ton of seats and it's sealed up so tight with our heat and sun that it's like playing in an airplane hangar
