Nay. There is no point to it and studies have found (but not proven) that "male circumcision may result in lifelong physical, sexual, and sometimes psychological harm as well." And while there is an very small chance of complications, there is still a chance.

There is just absolutely no reason to risk it.

Except the kids penis won't look like it's wearing a turtle neck sweater.

Actually, I've read that there could be more problems without circumcision (not including the look of it).

Absolutely not. It's not your penis - it's his. What gives you the right to mutilate someone's body?

(Spoken from a British perspective, where circumcision is hardly ever practiced).

Edit: Oh, and I have a son, and would never have dreamed of having him circumcised. Never in a gazillion years.

I say Nay, I would be pissed if my parents had messed with my penis without my knowledge, but maybe that's just me.

Nay. Foreskins eliminate the need for hand lotions. :D

 now that's just wrong

It's actually true... :lol

Nay, let him make that decision for himself. Even though its kinda hard later on

Excuse me!

Seriously, fwiw, my brother-in-law is a pediatrician. He'd vote yay.

He happens to be Jewish, and he'd vote nay against the religious ritual method and yay in favor of the hospital method.

Do your son a favor. Chop it off before he knows what's going on. After awhile, it get's to be a hard....decision to make.

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Much, much, MUCH better. I support this.

Plus, it's useless skin that's being removed anyway. The ladies will thank him in the future.

9-7 so far against it..... pretty even.

It basically comes down to cosmetic surgery then. There's no hygiene reasons unless you're not too keen on showering.

We're basically the only country in the world that does this routinely for nonreligious reasons. Even these days in parts of the U.S. the rates have gone down pretty significantly over the past couple of decades.

Without getting too graphic, I think unless the "turtleneck" is significant I'll lean against it. When he was born they said they couldn't perform it because there wasn't enough skin there to cut. So if it's minor I doubt I'll bother.

There are degrees.... most girlfriends I've had never even realized it.

Yeah, I've never gotten any comments from the ladies about it at all. It might just be because they're excited, but maybe they really don't care. If you shower and wash your unit, you won't have hygiene issues.

I really have a hard time understanding why people support circumcision. I can't even imagine my schlong without that little extra. It does serve a purpose IMO.
