  1. i clicked in here expecting to see one of the following
  2. dan uggla with a big blast ......... "headed to berkeley"
  3. giants radio guys complimented volstad on his running ability and then threw a few hedges in there (he's a pitcher, he's really tall) before settling into "showed good hustle" nice listening them talk themselves out of a bit of an exageration
  4. yep - i'd be surprised if he doesn't grab a bat to start the 9th he's been very efficient today this start should help illustrate to west the importance of making a team work a little ....... the giants don't walk a lot so don't do them any favors by giving up free bases
  5. I'm hoping he plays the next two games as I have tickets for Thurs/Friday and will be stuck watching Sat/Sun from home
  6. paper route as a youngin - only job I outright quit
  7. Las Vegas The real Grand Canyon unless you have things to do once you get there - but overrated as a quick day trip I left one of your overrated places early to go to another. We were working in Phoenix for two weeks so over the weekend we decided to go to Vegas and were so unimpressed we moved the Sunday flight returning to Phoenix from the evening to the morning so we could go to the Grand Canyon. We had no idea how cold it got up there so we were wearing shorts and once we get up there it was snowing. I still liked the views. yeah - a lot of people don't realize how varied a state AZ is as far as weather I don't dislike the GC - i think it's really great - however, I've been convinced more times than I would like by a visitor to make a trip up don't want to hike, don't want to camp, don't want to spend a weekend up north ...... let's just go on wednesday, leave early, come back the same day ..... just get the views invariably we spend about an hour at the canyon, ooh and ah a bit and then drive back with everyone feeling a bit deflated because you expect more ..... it's a different experience if you spend more time there i was kind of like that with stonehenge as well - it was in the middle of nowhere, which at first is cool because it makes it that more impressive ..... you ponder it, you get amazed by how long it's been there, think about how such a thing could be built, take in the surroundings then after about 30 minutes we were no longer amazed by being in the middle of nowhere, but frustrated that there wasn't more to do and that we had to pile back into the vehicle and trek on
  8. Dance Clubs Frat Parties / House Parties "Raves" Los Angeles Las Vegas Stonehenge NYC IHOP Olive Garden NBA Games The PA "Grand Canyon" The real Grand Canyon unless you have things to do once you get there - but overrated as a quick day trip The Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam I really don't have to many - most of the places I've visited are places I've wanted to go to and didn't leave me underwhelmed
  9. It's best to let this thing happen organically and then join with a coalition of nations to provide support once it's all said and done we've bungled about every attempt at having a friendly regime in the region over the past 50 years the iranian people are young, educated and developing ....... they want better for themselves and will make strides on their own with our history anything other than giving lip service and broad terminology is just fuel for their fire and propoganda machine Pres. A. is already demanding apologies from Barack based on the little he did say they are also trying really hard to paint the demonstrations as an attempt by the western satans to undermine their islamic gov't and just another example of how the west will try to undermine and embarrass them look at the story of Neda ...... how many different stories have they had for why she died?! - one of the official versions is that she was shot by a CIA operative to make them look bad there is little we can do to actually support them - we will not take up arms with the protestors and even a reformist under the islamic regime is not the best of potential friends so what should be done and to what end? give a ton of verbal and tactical support and premiere Bay of Pigs 2: Desert Party ?!?
  10. seems like a perfectly fine distribution idea cheaply diversify and expand your sales force, integrate into the community, sell more tickets it actually seems like a pretty savvy thing to do as long as they structure it correctly i don't know much about the pay your mortgage thing, but from what I gather on the radio it seems like a pretty decent promotion
  11. it's true and basically a shot at cubs fans after some wiseass cubs reporter was needling him ........ he plays the city dynamic pretty well
  12. disapointing game - wasn't sure why Fredi turned to Pinto in that situation given the lineup that was coming up, main advantage was against burrell .... a lot of the other guys were doing great against LHP and it allowed zobrist to approach from the other side of the plate when he was struggling from the opposite side tonight then the intentional walk was terrible i'm not the biggest pinto fan, but he is pretty decent i just wish he'd get himself into shape ....... i have a thing against fat pitchers, i feel they are unreliable and inconsistent
  13. nope - but i've listened to many professionals do it, these guys just seem to fall a little short the guy who sounds younger at least seems entertaining, although often times it seems he doesn't speak all that much the old guy is a bit brutal maybe they'll grow on me as my sample size is small, but on a couple of occasions I've flipped over to the other team feed to figure out what was going on not a whole lot of excitement in their calls and they seems to get confused and then just pause on a topic while trying to figure it out
  14. I feel for his family and hope they can endure this painful time He definitely had a huge impact on the music industry and was a great entertainer However, I have zero ability to really feel sad about this aside from saddness for his family's loss
  15. i don't have any marlins fans friends, but have met many just by going to road games last season there was a cody ross cheering section that made their way over from NM, so that was kind of cool i'm not that hot on the marlins radio team though
  16. the suns never should of traded for shaq .......... that was their mistake they weren't going anywhere with him, so why pay the luxury tax for a lottery team? as for the cavs ....... i don't think this helps him - it clogs the lane where lebron can do a lot of his business, doesn't exactly help them in their weakest area on defense (movement and guarding the wings) and now makes them vulnerable to teams like boston who may want to P&R will them
  17. it wouldn't be wise to think that people wouldn't want to have to deal with that type of crap if you had a family of 4 that was seated near them don't you think they found it at worst annoying? you have to realize that the diehards will show up regardless, but when trying to attract new fans having fights in the stands isn't exactly good times or a way to win them over just like other sports events where the drunken dope who yells idiotic comments and is swearing at everyone in the section also decreases enjoyment of the game there is a reason why more and more teams are putting in codes of conduct into their season tickets and tickets in general and it's not because such idiotic activity is good for business
  18. yeah, because nothing draws fans in like brawls........... with a very large crowd, wonder how many potential future ticket purchasers walked away thinking this isn't an environment I want to take my family to when it should be "wow, this was a great time and a great atmosphere" you don't need to cater to drunks and dopes - if they can't handle themselves they don't need to be there
  19. all parties should never be allowed in a stadium again ........... just idiotic was this happening about the time girardi was out protesting? - i heard the announcers mention something about security filing in below them to calm things down
  20. I just bought sat. radio this weekend so I could listen to the games at work and then on the drive home - last night was my first trip into insanity, i was driving to an event with my wife and we're heading toward the parking lot, 2 outs in the 9th and things started to fall apart i sat in my car listening and going slowly insane ..... had to go in with 3 balls to damon and the 2 runs already in ..... drove me nuts it was nice to see jeter disapoint the chanting masses 2 consecutive nights though
  21. this could should definitely have sort of monitoring for the rest of his life there was a story growing up about a teenage kid in a town over who brutally murdered a 4 yr old in their small town ......... what was the teen doing before he went off to that? torturing and mutilating cats and other animals there are just way too many of these type of situations where you can do anything other than red flag this guy forever
  22. 122 - i spent 2 minutes trying to come up with blue jackets and hit it with 39 ticks left to save my sanity
  23. well the first #s that have been officially reported are showing president A. out ahead in a landslide very believeable given the turnout they are seeing of youth and women
  24. I wouldn't like it - I prefer the NL style and like our current division let's not provide MLB with any ideas of doing something like swapping out FLA for BAL Braves aside, that would put 4 NL East teams within about 4-5 hours of driving, easy train service, etc they could try to build a marlins/rays rivalry while still focusing on boston/ny
  25. I would love leake
