New Stadium Construction Info.....
here is the porch from Tigers Stadium and here is the one from Citi here is the pool area here in phoenix - i haven't toured the stadium since they've changed it, but it wasn't bad when I stood down there on the tour - sightlines looked decent with enough of an area to move around and sit ....... the marlins concept looks like they want more of a beach feel though

What Would You Rather have on your Pancakes
i don't dig the texture of waffles, but real maple syrup is a no brainer ... i prefer mine from NY

Lenny Dykstra is in big trouble
how the hell does that guy get a column and who in their right mind would take advise from this guy ....... even his fans had to know what kind of a train wreck he was during his career

Any Bills fans?
i know there are also a couple upstate nyers as well (as I'm a native of that area) - but i absolutely hate the bills seattle sour grape =D :whistle

Any Bills fans?
ugh - i can't find it - i think it was for an insurance company or something - basically a guy getting up and going to work in buffalo, with his dolphins jacket on, with a dolphin mounted on his car and everyone is chucking snowballs at him and yelling stuff here is a bills commercial from budweiser and a similiar format for the dolphins - which is funnier
-
Any Bills fans?
heh - i'm not a dolphins fan ..... but my little brother is i do like that old commercial though of the dolphins fan going through buffalo getting snowballs tossed at him

1 year internship... where should I go?
SD is beautiful ........ too bad it's populated with people who live in SD........ it's more the attitude of southern CA that just doesn't vibe with my personality

Michael Crabtree's reaction to Raiders picking DHB
i like the phew look with the clearing of the forehead from his dad i also love DHBs reaction - all the people around him going nuts, and him just slinking in his chair as someone puts a raiders hat on him - he looked seriously depressed they also had to be expecting this right - he wasn't on that phone, but you have to assume at least a call was made?! - because he looked blindsided and a little bit upset classic

Michael Savage banned from entering UK for "hate speech"
heh - i experienced some hate speech while I was living there kind of funny that's how they'd choose to restrict who can visit their country - but their rules - he should just travel to ireland now

1 year internship... where should I go?
san francisco is an amazing city - i can't stand LA or most of southern CA - but SF is incredible and it will be a completely different world from south florida seattle would be an interesting choice you also can't go wrong in the NE with boston, nyc, philly, DC - any of those 4 would offer good options boston & philly are crawling with college students - DC is a really neat city to spend some time in and NY is NY ...... they also provide great proximity i agree with the above sentiment about having it be a worthwhile job and one that you can use - however, if I could meet those criteria in a place like SF i'd be there in an instant

Best Burger
In n Out - double double animal style ...... so good I like whataburger as well (their fries are incredible when they have their crap together) - service there is painful though Steak & Shake is neat when I head out that way Carls is solid Fuddruckers is good Heart Attack Grill was pretty good. The burgers are well cooked, the fries are kind of in a serve your own buffet and also good, service is good, the owner is a friendly guy who wants to make sure everyone is having fun, the beer/soda is pulled from coolers ice cold (and the coke is in bottles made with cane sugar - not hfcs) ...... the eye candy wasn't as good as advertized though - if that is what you are looking for out here grab a beer at the library or swing by the titled kilt for a meal
-
New Stadium Fact....
probably not - mainly because the strongest glass on the planet would cost too much and be overkill they just need a good strong love bob dropping the knowledge though - growing up near corning NY and spending way too much time in the glass museum it's something near and dear to my heart the glass breaking demo they do is pretty neat - it's by the exhibits of glass you can smack with a hammer to no effect

Mets want to erase Gooden's grafitti in new park.
someone needs to to add the Kevin Mitchell Hall of Severed Cat Heads next to the wing of 1,000 Reasons We are Inferior to the Yankees

One word
whatever pittsburgh isn't a terrible team - they're new pitching coach has done well with the staff game 1 was a terrible performance by miller karstens is the type of pitcher the marlins have trouble with - patience isn't their strong suit and it's exploited by a guy like him - sanchez looked decent and it could of gone either way today they actually touched up maholm a bit and maholm is a very good pitcher - unfortunately nolasco enjoyed giving up doubles, paulino/bonifacio couldn't execute the pick off play and it wasn't enough the pirates bullpen also outperformed the marlins pen to me they went 6-3 on a road trip and return home where the pitching matchups will swing in their favor underlying concerns rest with the bullpen, nolasco and uggla at this point in the season it's a long season and these things happen - get home and bring on the phils!

Kevin Gregg blows it for the Cubs
in fairness he did come into a jam that marmol helped create this weekend against the cards and with runners on 1st and 2nd shut them down retiring 3 straight and keeping the game tied still don't think he's worth much though

4/14 Post Game
Volstad gets my vote for following one masterful performance (JJ's) with his own masterpiece (aside from the homer). Heck of a way to start off on the road against a solid line-up. Winning the series is made that much more easier when you win the first game. creepily enough I noticed you were reading the same thread at the bottom stats on a different thread, but your PM isn't active ........ as I've been heckled at BOB/Chase for being "the one marlins fan" I was wondering where in AZ you reside? I'm in the SW valley

We Need One Of These
i'm sure they will the royals also did one of these with the kauffman renovations - they also did kind of like a from your seat virtual view which was really neat
-
Some new stadium renderings
thanks - i thought I heard something about them trying to keep it, but just smoothing it out a little when they initially leaked the dimensions - then the renederings didn't seem to show it definitely a unique feature I think worth keeping - much better than the stadiums that have things like outfield hills, etc
-
Some new stadium renderings
I like it - would still love to see some kind of teal monster built in though and a triangle of sorts i think the glass wall, fountain and palms will all look fantastic and help create a really good feel at the game - those early season games where it's warm and the stadium structure is open, but still providing some shade and a nice breeze, perched in some of my favorite seats (upper deck over home plate), looking out of the beautiful grass, through a glass wall showing downtown miami, palm fronds waving, fountains spraying, a marlin framed - hanley up at bat just a perfect scene
-
Hanley Ramirez Slump?
hanley looks fine to me and he's absolutely drilling some pitches this year that have either gone to the deepest part of the park without leaving or headed foul
-
Tough schedule ahead...
will be interesting for sure - i think it's 16 of 19 on the road the braves have been playing well and have some good young arms on their team as well (although i'm not sure why they continue to keep hanson in the minors - he's filthy) the pirates are getting really good pitching from maholm dating back to last year and their new pitching coach is being credited with getting duke out to such a good start - with guys like mclouth in the lineup and freddy sanchez playing out of his mind they aren't going to be a roll over team at PNC the nats are a break though if they can play .500 through this stretch it will be nice - it's a long season and all these teams will eventually have to come to florida where the marlins can put a spread above .500
