Tough schedule ahead...

Featured Replies

I was looking at the schedule this morning and I noticed that 22 of the next 29 games are on the road. That's definitely a rough stretch by any estimation. I just wanted to let people know to not panic if the next 29 games don't go as well as the first 6.

Yeah. 13 of the last 16 games of the month. At least 6 of those are against the Nats and Pirates.

Im not to worried about the upcoming trip in ATL, WSH, and PItt. Iam however worried about the gaems after that 3 with the phils, 3 with the mets, and then 4 with the cubbies. Thats kinda rough.

We aren't exactly bad on the road...

We aren't exactly anything on the road, cause we havn't played a road game yet.

Well, based on last years road numbers and the way we've been playing so far, I'm not exactly worried.

I think we can come out 4-5 games over .500 on this trip.

i think we can take 2-3 from the braves.

maybe sweep the pirates and nationals.

the other teams will be rough.

Exactly! That's the way I look at it too. We should be able to take the series in those if not more.

The series that will be tough is the Mets & Cubs.

So you have us 8-1 on the trip? This team isn't going to go 130-32. Predicting individual games or series, especially far in advance, is maybe even sillier in baseball than it is in football.

let hope we donot need to test bullpen on this trip i think we take 2 of 3 in atl sweep national take 2of 3 at pitt come home 7-2 road trip with record of 12-2 after road trip

Lets just win today and then we can think about tomorrow's game :thumbup .

I like the way you think!!!!! :notworthy

I don't know what infields EB has played on with the Nationals, certainly none at third base, and Jeremy has a big learning curve ahead of him as well switching from right to left not to mention Maybin, so this is going to be a very telling roadtrip, not just for those three, but for the team as a whole.

I guess the good news is we get these couple of dozen games out of the way early and if we come out of it with anything above .500 we're in very good shape.

My thoughts exactly

Is it true Miller will get his first start of the year against the Braves this upcoming series? I am dreading the day Miller has to take the mound. He has not shown one bit of improvement from last year and I have ZERO faith that we can win a game he is starting. That does not mean I do not want him to do well. I just have zero faith he will.

yep, he starts tomorrow. and... well, i guess we will go as far as our starters will take us... and as for miller... we will see... *bites nails*

Certainly, past years really mean nothing, but we have done very well in Wrigley, and of course, there is always the Kevin Gregg factor.

I'm a lot less nervous about Miller then you. He improved greatly at the end of spring training, and I'm excited to see what he's going to do in his first start. What I'm not excited about is the fact that he matches up with Lowe.

will be interesting for sure - i think it's 16 of 19 on the road

the braves have been playing well and have some good young arms on their team as well (although i'm not sure why they continue to keep hanson in the minors - he's filthy)

the pirates are getting really good pitching from maholm dating back to last year and their new pitching coach is being credited with getting duke out to such a good start - with guys like mclouth in the lineup and freddy sanchez playing out of his mind they aren't going to be a roll over team at PNC

the nats are a break though

if they can play .500 through this stretch it will be nice - it's a long season and all these teams will eventually have to come to florida where the marlins can put a spread above .500

Miller's start tomorrow will be his first real test to see how he's improved. IMO the two outings he had in relief do not count. Miller is not a relief pitcher. he is a starter. it's a heck of a lot different to come into the game in the middle of it rather than at the beginning.

I'm very nervous about Miller. If he gained control over his pitches with the stuff he has, he should be a star. The problem is I'm still convinced he is damaged goods, rushed by the Tigers and he may never recover.

And yes, extremely tough. Long consecutive games with little breaks. That is exhausting on the players. The Commish should've at least allowed some days off in between instead of giving us the couple early in the season.
