White Sox get Garcia
The whtie sox have a better bullpen, offense, and starting rotation...their closing situation isn't as good as Joe anthan...the result? Thier closing situation is as good, if not better than Minnesota's Ozzie said earlier this week that Shingo is the closer "unless we get Gagne or someting"

White Sox get Garcia
Too bad the Twins are gonna win that division. uh, no. the only thing the twins have that the sox don't is joe nathan. the chisox win. Shingo Takatsu. Take out his major league Debut in Yanke Stadium and he has gone 28.2 IP giving up 1 ER. That's a 0.31ERA. Opponents are hitting well below .200 against him. A quote from his wife, who speaks english, this weekend was something along the lines of "He loves it here[Chicago]. He never used to get standing ovations in Japan. He really likes to perform for the fans." Shingo will be the biggest thing in chicago, who doesn't throw his back out sneezing, by the end of the year. He already gets more love from the fans than any other relief pitcher that I've ever seen here (Foulke, Koch, Thigpen included)

White Sox get Garcia
Reed who was USA Today's top Minor Hitter is a HUGE pickup for The Mariners. If I'm a white sox fan, I would have wanted Benson may not be Garcia but wow what they had to give up. NObody wanted benson. The sox have tons of Minor League Outfielders. 3 top prospects still (Borchard, Anderson, Sweeney) -- I don't think that too many of us are really upset about losing Reed, but Olivo is another story. Olivo is gonna be a stud... He was underutilised in Chacago already as it was.

Also, maybe this means Seattle is giving up and might want to give the Marlins Everday Eddie The Chisox wanted him too, I don't think he's on the market.

Shingo's hidden perfect game!
didnt armando have his own streak like that? No. Armando had not allowed a hit to 41 straight batters, but he walked 6 over that stretch, including 3 in one inning. The "hidden" perfect game isn't achieved unless you don't allow a baserunner over 27 straight plate appearances. Jake Wesbrook also did it earlier this season. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=2814 BTW, if your s/n is where I think it is from you are awesome.

MLB Futures game
Blanton should get the start for the USA team. I don't know about the world team, the only one I know well is Munoz, and his recent performance in a call-up likely crushed his hopes of starting.

McKeon,Marlins&Beckett nominated for ESPY awards
Beckett had the best performance.. Phil is a bigger name and has a wider draw, thus he will win.

How manys games have you been to this season?
6 on 5 days -- caught one DH... None in Florida though :anon

Maggs & PW
Just caught a bit of the pregame b4 the Sox game. They showed maggs doing a full out wind sprints. He told the FSN crew that he was "real close"
-
Maggs & PW
Maggs is running at full speed. He says the knee feels great. He hasn't done any cutting or sharp turns yet though. Reports earlier this week said he could be back as early as this weekend(25-27). Though I highly doubt that timeline. I wouldn't be surprised to see him back when the Sox take a trip to Wrigley over 4th of July weekend though.

Arnie Munoz debut for ChiSox
11er in like 3IP nice job Name one manager in baseball, outside of Ozzie, that will let a kid, WHO IS MAKING HIS MAJOR LEAGUE DEBUT, pitch to a guy who ALREADY HAD A HOMER EARLIER IN THE INNING, WITH THE BASES LOADED. Name another manager who would have run that same pitcher back out there in the next inning. After a 9 run second. Ozzie is to blame for that line, not Munoz. It's one thing to let a veteran take one for the team out there, but for a guy to be dismanlted like that, and have to be run back out there, in his major league debut is inexcusable. Thanks to ozzie munoz has about as much confindence now as a $5 hooker. =------------- incidentely, in the second munoz had two outs, in a 3-1 game, when he induced a deep flyball to center field. It landed just on the warning track, but the centerfielder, Rowand, was playing so ridiculously far in that he couldn't even track it down, and should have gone for a triple, but the batter (Vidro) didn't even run out of the box. He threw the bat down in disgust. So the line is again misleading, as in my book, that play should go down as an error, but since Rowand never touched it, it goes as a hit. He have been out of the inning allowing 2ER not 9.

GET A BAT!!!!!
Trade for Carl Everett.? Bring back the former Marlin :thumbup Watched the ChiSox game tonite. He was movin like a 3-toed-sloth out there. I know he just came of the DL, but damn, was he slow. Well he did go 1 for 3 with 2 RBI and a walk. The guy is a solid hitter with RISP, something that this team NEEDS. buerhle was terrible in the first --- the first 5 reached safely

Check this out.
No, I think you're wrong. That money will go towards paying Koch's fat $6.375M salary this year. Sorry to burst your bubble... ...and scene... Exactly... I really don't understand your logic when you believe we have been given 2 mill to spend on Beltran immediately after we acquire Koch and his big salary I mean come on, what's the deal here? Did you think they shipped us Koch along with his salary paid in full AND 2 mill? From the report I read the Sox have agreed to pick up "more than half" of Koch's remaining 3.75MIL. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...tesox-headlines (registration req'd) Also I just heard on SC that the marlins were "sleepers" in the Carlos Beltran sweepstakes.
