Franchise record 13 teals in yesterday's game. Not sure what the point is but it's the only positive news from the organization lately.

July Game Thread
Matt Andriese has no future with this team. He sucks, his numbers suck, and he is old. We know this season is dead in the water. With the pitcher coming back next year we should be preparing for next year meaning giving playing time to those who could contribute. It is frustrating as hell and I am constantly banging my head against the wall seeing these no-hopers shuttling in and out of Jacksonville and continually getting teed up time after time. If they suck in Jacksonville, chances are they will suck worse in Miami. Common sense 101. Meanwhile Luarbert Arias, Elvis Alvarado, Woo-suk go, Max Meyer all can't sniff the majors and even if they do they'll get utilize sparingly and set up to fail. All are young and controllable and it would be nice to see what they can do in a non-pennant race situation. Do you think these clowns with the computer generated names that are 34 from Japan, Korea, Mexico will be around next year. I hope not. Hell throw Soriano, Maldonado, freaking Monteverde out there the second half. Let them sink and see if they can swim. Because we know for a fact this current trainwreck, can't win, will get worse, and will never win.

100% agree. The sooner he is gone the better. Jazz is basically the Mario Balotelli of baseball. And his career trajectory will likely be similar. He will get chance after chance because of his potential, and he will fail over and over again. In 2032, Jazz will be the sensation of the KBO most likely.

more like Valente bozo, am I right?

Something tells me the Valente Bellozo era isn't going to be talked about for generations to come.

Next order of business
Left out nail the draft. Shy away from the too old skewing of the age spectrum. Get players a little more polished since God only knows what our hitting instructors are going to teach them.
-
Next order of business
He's still only 22. His natural position is CF, he covers a lot of ground, and he's pretty fast. Superior fly ball (and.or baseball) instincts to Jazz who replies more on his athleticism to cover up his deficiencies.

Next order of business
Hopefully Sanoja can stick at 2B. Still very young though. 1B Is tougher and we will need to find someone in a trade. Don't think the Indians have given up on Manzardo yet, nor do they really need Scott or Jazz but he would be ideal. Tyler Locklear or Bryce Eldridge are two intriguing prospects I wouldn't mind in the pipeline. Still reeling from not signing Ivan Melendez. We are very thin at 1B in the minors as well.

Noble Meyer/Thomas White
Noble Meyer and Thomas White both named to the NL squad for the future game at the All-Star break. Both progressing well in Beloit. Unsurprisingly, no Marlin hitting prospects were selected.
-
Next order of business
Trade Scott for some bats, preferably a catcher or first baseman. Trade Jazz for a premium and mid-tier prospect. Call up Mesa and give him at-bats. Get Sanoja reps at 2B in AAA. Call him up in Septmeber if not earlier. See what Joe Mack can do in AAA. Find a long-term solution at 1B and 2B. Remember who Max Meyer is. Give Cabrera three starts to fish or cut bait. Thank Josh Bell for his services. See if anyone is stupid enough to take headcase Jesus Sanchez. Your are welcome Peter.

Xavier Edwards
Well his average did dip then BAM called up, so some credence to your theory. Now play him every day and let the chips fall where they may. Give him an opportunity to succeed or fail. Is that Sanoja's music I hear next?

Tim Anderson DFAd
Complete failure of a signing. Players in their 30s on a downward trajectory continue going downward in almost all cases. Hopefully that simple lesson was learned. Excited that the X-man is getting an opportunity.

Great article about the Marlins on Fangraphs
Won't link but Davy Andrews wrote a fantastical article that is nailing every complaint everyone has about our approach to hitting. After reading this I pretty convinced that Daddy Dix actually knows nothing about baseball, and is misinterpreting data analytics that are spitting out fallacies that knowing anything about the game would easily be the cause of not misinterpreting them or more importantly taken as the be all-end all. John Mabry, Bill Mueller, and Jason Hart should all do the right thing and tender their resignations immediately. If they refused to do so, terminate them with cause.

Evan Fitterer
2109 5th round pick, slowly made his way up the ladder. Numbers have been unspectacular but shown flashes of brilliance. Still only 24. Made his AAA debut tonight and looked very good. Nice to see this kid ge ton the cusp of the majors.

Tell us your favorite moment from the Christian Bethancourt Marlins era.
So not one team claimed Bethancourt. The Marlins were free to keep him, send him down, whatever. But like a lame horse on the backstretch they eased his pain and released him. Now we are losing trades where the other team gets cash. Wow.

Jacob berry
The good news: Jacob Berry is batting .300 so far in just the month of June. The bad news: He has sacrificed power to the point his OPS is Arraez/Juan Pierre-esque.
-
Xavier Edwards
Batted .351 last year at AAA. This year batting .352 at AAA. What exactly does he need to do to get playing time on a team that can't hit water if it fell out of a boat?

2019 Draft
don't know if there would be room at shortstop for Abrams since we have Tim F'n Anderson anyway. LOL.
-
2019 Draft
Marlins pick JJ Bleday over HS stars CJ Abrams and Riley Greene. Simply because we thought the older college bat was going to be fast-tracked to the majors. Not saying we would have developed the two bats with our horrific organizational approach to batting, but being short-sighted cost us big-time. Our whole weird approach to the draft for several years where we thought the older the player the better goes against anything age curves have taught us. Oh well, we would have messed it up anyway. Death knell #1.

June Game Thread
Brazoban and high leverage situations go together like oil and water. He is quintessentially the poster child for what is wrong with data analytics. Dur, he throws hard, Dur, he's not a MLB quality pitcher. But he throws fast. He's my favorite pitcher of all-time with the name Huascar though.

If you had a battery of Valente Bellozo and Ali Sanchez on your Marlins 2024 bingo card, you sir are Nostradamus.

or the pitching coaches as well. Pretty impressive that any team can land 7, SEVEN!, starters on the long-term IL. Absolute clown show on all levels.

June Game Thread
Valente Bellozo is getting called up and starting tomorrow. If you haven't heard of him don't worry no one else has either. Pretty sure Max Meyer and Patrick Monteverde were spotted outside of a Jacksonville Publix crying in each others arms. Don't worry we are almost out of random journeymen pitchers so there time might be soon. Can a baseball team be used for malpractice?

Three walks and 15 strikeouts at the plate. The whole organizational approach to hitting is gobshite. Not going to win more than a third of our games with that approach at the plate. Fix it now.

No argument from me there. Can you make some suggestions on what is wrong and what you think they can do to fix it, in your opinion?
