possibly, but he will always be a good bunter and speed won't slump either, and we needed to move runners over and he was the only guy on the team who could bunt. regardless if he's having a career year, his main skills were his speed and bunting and that won't really slump.

Will miss Hampson, good player. I don't like the word 'role player' for him cuz Braxton was also a 'role pitcher' till he proved he is a starter in the MLB regardless of what they think of his 'stuff'. Hampson was the only player on our team who could bunt, had great speed and was very clutch. Helped us with a few late inning miracles. Happy to see he got a full year MLB contract he earned it.

I think he will be the analytics assistant for Bendix, I don't think he will be doing any says, yes or no, on the moves over anyone. His background is analytics so im thinking he will just be the number cruncher for whatever Bendix is looking to calculate. edit: im thinking the reason they gave him this job title is so he can have the office closest to Bendix

yea, we got one mcdonalds chef who only uses the cheapest ingredients to make a sandwich (Bendix) and we got a chef who works at ritz carlton who uses only expensive ingredients to make a sanwich (this Rangers guy) and we got them in the same kitchen with Bruce pinching as many pennies as can fit in the tongs

Wonder what the trade could be. I assume trading another pitcher, maybe Cabrera for another position player. I know Skip doesn't have Cabrera as high as other teams cuz of the walks, even sending him down to the minors. Tho Scott had the same problem till this past year, thankfully Skip never lived thru a Scott walking meltdown. Everyone knows Cabrera has great potential, with more control he can be unstoppable. If Tanner Scott can do it, why not Cabrera?

we never heard what she said other than the reporter who mentioned Bruce hiring a new superior (Bendix) she would have and so she declined. connecting the dots you can tell she wouldn't accept the demotion and wanted a promotion. she didn't want someone above her other than bruce telling her yes and no on her moves. i dont think we will ever hear from her again, it was clearly taken as a disrespect and she wanted to move on. Yes she did Sandy, and Im pretty sure as well had negotiations with Soler towards the end of this year that didn't pan out. At least there was talks tho but Soler probably earned himself a contract bruce was never going to pay. tbh i think Jazz proved he is not only an ok center fielder, but can be a great one. he continues to improve at center fielder. maybe the injury curse turns around. he's had some freak accidents (the foot, shouldnt happen again) and some other wear and tear injuries (back and oblique and hamstring issues). but i think obviously a 4rth outfielder who can play great at CF is necessary, someone like Hampson or Davis both who are gone now. but no i dont think we need a center fielder i know Jazz is our guy and he's improving still at CF, i think he can be an allstar there and even be a gold glove caliber player there. if u remember toward the end of the year he was making amazing plays routinely.

I support Bendix but the idea that Kim Ng was all of a sudden a bad GM because she focused on acquiring talent to improve the team and not on 'sustainable' is what gets me, every other GM we ever on this franchise had always traded our stars for prospects. Ng was the 1st GM we ever had that actually showed she would care more about winning than making the owner richer. When was the last time we traded a decent player for another decent player to improve the team what it needed? Ng did that trading Lopez for Arraez. Bendix or any other GM we ever had would have traded Lopez for a bunch of worthless overrated prospects who never pan out. Ng traded some shitty prospects for quality MLB players, just the Jake Burger deal alone was worthy of praise. Bendix or any other GM we ever had would have never made those deals. Ng was always focused on making the team better and it might move the Marlins from 30th payroll to 29th and that was unacceptable to Bruce, and so that's why I call the sudden turn on Kim Ng and the sudden unconditional love for Bendix shilling. Because it sounds like it, you have a GM who is willing to win and then people point out the flaws, but other GMs dont even want to be in the game, they are just there to make the owner money, and supporting that can be for no other reason than shilling. The Avi deal was a miss but I would at least like to hear the reasons that deal happened, we never heard them. The Cueto deal made sense at the time, as well as the Robertson deal. You swing and you miss sometimes. Our other GMs and Bendix will never swing tho, they will just sit in the batting box hoping to take a walk so they can never get blamed for making a mistake. That's what I like about Kim and what (SO FAR, i get it more 'time is needed') i don't like about Bendix or any other GM so far. I guarantee you by now if Kim was here a Arraez and Luzardo extension would have been done. Nobody ever wants to talk about the Luzardo deal as well that she made trading half a meaningless season of Marte for him, that's the deal Bendix would dream of but he will never have made.

that $30 million was also hitting AND pitching, doubt he gets $45 million for only 1 year without pitching. i think he would take the same money $30 million just to hit for 1 year while he heals his arm. once he pitches again he would get the $50 million per year for 6 or more years.
