Arraez traded
Marlins are so devoid of talent, fans think one tool player Arraez is a franchise cornerstone.

Arraez traded
Was going to leave in the offseason anyway. Hope at least one of the specs pan out. Trading Pablo for Arraez was bad bad bad.

Who should be fired?
Everyone

1998 Marlins season.
It wont be a "full tear down", because there isn't much to tear down. Until there is a strong foundation created through draft and development, this team will just be kicking the can down the road trying to patch massive holes by trading what little minor league talent they have. As mentioned above, this isn't '98, '05, or '12 when they actually had talent up and down the roster

1998 Marlins season.
This is not true. Unfortunately, another fire sale is necessary since Jeter/Ng botched the last one. There is next to no hitting on this team with none in the pipeline either. Not much of a future for last year’s team, even if they miraculously made the playoffs with 84 wins and a negative run differential.

4/8 at Yankees - 6:05 p.m.
Should have traded high on Luzardo lmao

4/7 at Cardinals - 2:15 p.m.
Nice game for the season run differential

Schumaker's 2025 Option Voided
Makes sense that Bendix would want to bring in his own guy. Like other comments mentioned, I don’t think it really matters who the manager is.

4/6 Post Game
Once it became obvious that Arraez wasn't signing an extension, he should have been moved. If this crap performance keeps up, there won't be much of a return for him.

Arraez is straight garbage rn....should have sold high on him like the Twins did.
- 4/4 at Cardinals

Upcoming firesale
I agree 100%....but look at what the Astros acquired through IFA or draft: Altuve, Correa, Springer, Tucker, Bregman, Y. Alvarez..... what hitters did Jeter/Ng acquire through those same means? Zilch. Unfortunately, we have not built the foundation of a winning team, not even close. Throwing money at free agents without a core in place is like lipstick on a pig. I get the frustration, following this team is not the faint of heart.

Upcoming firesale
Y'all are delusional if you think an owner is going to come in here and spend big. You also keep making the same mistake thinking handing out sizeable contracts directly results in winning. Only way this thing is righted is through draft and development. Unfortunately, Jeter and Ng were atrocious at that. Thats why the current lineup is made up ENTIRELY of players they had to deplete the farm system to trade for.

This team blows
My point is everyone listed we either had no chance to sign or would’ve been a mistake to sign.

This team blows
Teoscar....1 year/23.5 million with an elite franchise, Justin Turner is 40 years old this year, Montgomery 1 year/25 million with a team in the WS last year. Mitch Garver games played/per season in his career: 87, 54, 68, 23, 93, 102.

This team blows
Who could they have signed? Keep in mind, you have to overpay to get a player to sign with this franchise. If you think a player like Matt Chapman would have signed the same deal here that he did with the Giants, Idk what to tell you.

And for those who are still wonder You can thank Loria and MLB Commish for that one. The league had such a hard at the idea of Jeter being an owner, that they totally overlooked the rest of the ownership group. Sherman has zero business being the managing partner of a team, he doesn't have the net worth. MLB and Loria wanted Jeter though.

Marlins last year had a -57 run differential, a fluke 33-14 record in one run games, and were swept out of the playoffs pretty decisively. Bendix saw the writing on the wall with Sandy out and inconsistent Soler wanting a long-term deal. I guess they could've signed some reinforcements to stay around .500 this year, but you can't force guys to sign. For all we know, Bendix did make offers to several players.

This team blows
Jeter/Ng ran the team into the ground, this is one helluva challenge facing Bendix. Their absolute failure in the draft and free agency forced them into trades that depleted the farm system. We all knew that wasn’t sustainable.

This isn't a rebuild it's a surrender
Someone gets it....too many atrocious moves made the last few years. Arraez for Pablo should've been a straight up deal for one.

I wondered the same thing about the shadows....puzzling decision to have roof open.

3/31 Post Game
First Round picks: 2018- Connor Scott 2019-JJ Bleday 2020- Max Meyer 2021-Khalil Watson & Joe Mack 2022- Jacob Berry Since these drafts were such massive whiffs, there are no reinforcements coming. Rebuild is only realistic option.

3/31 Post Game
It sucks, but Bendix is doing the right thing. Just gotta hope they can actually draft and develop the specs. Jeter and Ng struck out every single draft.
