Because Long is actually a good, safe pick, which is the antithesis of the Ginn selection. not at all...i thought ginn was a good pick then and i think he will develop into one of the better wr's in the game Get serious. That was a horrible pick. Ginn was projected to go in the 20's. You dont reach for a kick returner at #9 (quoting the ex coach). The dolphins had much more pressing needs. He didnt exactly put up good numbers last season. In fact if you remove two december games that inflated his stats, he had 27 catches and 300 yards in 14 games. There is a reason that last years GM isnt around anymore... Picking Jake Long is a GOOD pick, Ted Ginn was not. im dead serious...ginn provides something the fins havent had in ages and ages, mass quantities of speed...was it a bit of a reach? maybe...but word is that that were several teams positioning themselves to take ginn very shortly after we did...and for a rookie WR, he had outstanding numbers in what could best be described as an anemic passing offense...and there were two KR touchdowns that he had which were taken away by questionable at best holding calls that had no effect on the play... the reason that gm isnt around anymore is because parcells brought his ship to town with his own guys and mueller was horrible at evaluating veteren players

As for the bunt....if Hermida scores it was a good move, since he didn't we criticize the decision. If you go into the game thread, you'll see that a few of us criticized it as soon as we saw that Amezaga was bunting. Many of us just feel it is a bad move in that situation. many of you feel that bunting in any situation is a bad move.......................................... :banghead I'm not one of them. I've defended bunting before on here. I was against everyone asking for Uggla bunting though, and he proved me right the next day with his inability to bunt. What I don't believe in is throwing away outs in the 9th inning on the road. fair enough...but i believe this is the right call and i would have done it a million times even if the end result was less than favorable each of those times...sometimes...you have to tie it before you can win it...i mean if pasta hits into a dp and hanley doesnt even get an AB, then everyone screams for tosca's head because he didnt bunt there when its an obvious situation to do so...you cant win em all, or in the case of all the micro managers on this board, you cant win any of them

gotta love the hate for tosca...i mean bench coaches are crucial to a team's overall sucess...and for the record...he was fired by the blue jays because the blue jays couldnt compete with the wild spending yanks and sawx...

bunting is not pure idiocy, not being able to bunt is sheer stupidity...fredo did his job and we couldnt get it done

An offensive lineman is an offensive lineman.There are many offensive lineman in later rounds that will be just as good as jake long. could very well be...but jake is rated the highest and parcells and co know offensive linemen as well as anyone in the league...i believe this is the right pick

i really love how pittsburgh announcers have already given up on this season They keep talking about what they need to focus on as a team but I have yet to hear them say one good thing that they currently have. 15 straight years of losing can have that effect on people That does suck. I hope the Panthers make the playoffs soon. 8 years is enough for a franchise, lol. 15 is rough! The Panther's just had a winning season record. The Pirates would kill a baby for that. yeah but a winning record and not making the playoffs in the nhl is just as rough as a 1-15 football record, a 15 win basketball team, or 110 losses in baseball

Because McFadden gives you similar running styles (though AP is a bit better) better receiving skills, and less injury risk? What about McFadden gives you the idea that he'll be a bust? I'm genuinely curious. AP injuries were generally...freak injury kinda stuff...but AP runs with a little lower center of gravity and has alot more strength overall...he can run by, around or over you...DM can can run by you, but he will get pummeled by nfl linebackers IMO
