Obama: The surge succeded but there shouldn't have been one
The U.S. invaded Iraq (illegally), murdered over 1 million of its citizens, destroyed its infrastructure, drove millions more from their homes, installed a puppet government, and orchestrated deals to take their oil -- but the Iraqis are at fault for "not taking responsibility for themselves." Their infrastructure was destroyed long before we got there in 2003. Millions were drove from their homes long before we got there. Saddam needed to be deposed, whether you agree with us doing it or not doesn't change that fact. We wont have peace with the arab world until we leave the region(militarily) and cut ties with Iraq. This is not a conflict of values or how we live our lives, it is a conflict of foreign policy. They dont hate us for being American, they hate us for our government. The second we leave the region the Jihad against our nation ceases. No one in our government realises this, just like they don't realise that our relationship with Israel is counterproductive. what valuable interest did we have in seeing saddam dead though? did it help our economy? did it really make the world a better place? good god no... and i completely agree with what you said in the second part here...but...our government is well aware that if we left, we would be left alone...but...really...what fun is that...we like throwing rocks at bee hives

McCain Forgets How Many Houses He Owns
There is another Jimmy? Should I start going by Jim, Jimbo, Jimmy Cracked Corn, or sumtin sumtin like dat? Just use capitalization, correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation and I guarantee no one will ever confuse you two. I think as long as he doesn't talk about weed in every post, people will know the difference... you will have to point out in my post history where i talk about weed alot...because aside from a discussion about it in reference to a ricky williams suspension is about the only time i talk about it

WTF!
let me solve this riddle real quick for everyone...stop watching espn...if they start losing ratings and money from the rest of the country, they will eventually stop the red sox/yankees/mets knob slobbing when it costs them money I agree. I haven't watched espn in several weeks, ever since I got mlb.tv. I live in atlanta, so i don't get the Marlins games, and i got tired of repeatedly watching the Red Sox every night. yeah...being that i live in massachusetts and that NESN gets the rights to basically every non-weekend game...when the red sox are on espn...i get a big, dull grey screen...fantastic espn...thank you, i always wanted to watch a big grey screen with nothing on it...maybe...just maybe...they could take that turd burglar steve philips and put him on an alternate game...ya know...for the people who live in the northeast market so we dont get a freaking GREY SCREEN!

NFLPA director Gene Upshaw has died.
and i say...................thank god the mother _______ is dead...he and tagliabue or however you spell his name have been screwing the older generations of nfl' ers for decades...the older men, played for crap money, in front of smaller crowds than at duke football and with terrible equipment and probably very shoddy team doctors back then among other various issues that the players of today couldnt have their worst nightmares about... much like with george mikan in the nba and their pension issues...i think its a disgrace...the nfl and nba in particular weild a tremendous amount of power in this country and its time that those in charge dont forget about those who burned these games into hearts and made us believe in athletes that didnt just play baseball

Arkansas DNC Chairman Killed by Gunman
so you basically imply from the article that felons vote for democrats because a couple of guys say they MIGHT vote that way?
-
Arkansas DNC Chairman Killed by Gunman
I really find this to be disturbing, especially since just a couple of weeks ago another gunman killed several members of a church in TN because he perceived them to be 'liberal'. One caller on a radio show today, who claimed to be a psychologist with 33 years of experience, said that after listening to conservative talk radio for some time, he thought that they were laying the foundations for violence against people who describe themselves as liberal. The overwhelming majority of convicted felons vote or would vote democrat if allowed to vote so it's a fair assumption taht the overwheming majority of murderers vote or would vote democrat. that is a flat out lie

Arkansas DNC Chairman Killed by Gunman
Ark. Dems' party chairman killed in shooting Suspect also shot and killed during chase; motive for attack unknown The Associated Press updated 6:30 p.m. ET, Wed., Aug. 13, 2008 LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - A man barged into the Arkansas Democratic headquarters and opened fire Wednesday, fatally shooting the state party chairman before speeding off in his pickup. Police later shot and killed the suspect after a 30-mile chase. Police said they don't know the motive for the 51-year-old suspect, whose name has not been released. They said Chairman Bill Gwatney, 48, died four hours later at University Hospital in Little Rock after the midday shooting near the state Capitol. Witnesses said the gunman entered the party offices shortly before noon and said he wanted to see Gwatney about volunteering. Party officials said the man forced his way into Gwatney's office and fired three shots, then fled in a blue truck. "He said he was interested in volunteering, but that was obviously a lie," said 17-year-old party volunteer Sam Higginbotham. He said the man then pushed past employees to reach the chairman's office, where he fired three times. Gwatney, a former state senator and a Hillary Rodham Clinton superdelegate to the Democratic National Convention this month in Denver, had served 10 years as a state senator. Clinton and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, issued a statement calling the 49-year-old Gwatney "not only a strong chairman of Arkansas' Democratic Party, but he is also a cherished friend and confidante." After the midday shooting, the suspect was chased into Grant County, south of the capital, and apprehended after being shot. Police fired at the man but it wasn't known whether he also suffered self-inflicted injuries. Moments before the Democratic headquarters shooting, a man with a gun threatened the building manager of the Arkansas State Baptist Convention headquarters seven blocks east. It wasn't known if the incidents were related. Dan Jordan, the denomination's business manager, said the building manager asked the man what was wrong and that he said "I lost my job." Capitol lockdown The state Capitol was locked down for about an hour until police got word the shooter had been captured, said Arkansas State Capitol police Sgt. Charlie Brice. Karen Ray, executive director of the Republican Party of Arkansas, sent her workers home early "out of an abundance of caution." "Our hearts go out to everyone at the Democratic headquarters. What a tragedy," Ray said. "This is just a very upsetting, troubling and scary thing for our staff as well." An impromptu vigil at University Hospital drew Gov. Mike Beebe and a number of state legislators who had worked with Gwatney. House Majority Leader Steve Harrelson was at the state Capitol for a news conference on crime and that he didn't know of anyone who would want to harm Gwatney. "You never think of something like this happening here in Arkansas," Harrelson said. Sarah Lee, a sales clerk at a flower shop across street from the party headquarters, said that around noon Gwatney's secretary ran into the shop and asked someone to call 911. Lee said the secretary told her the man had come into the party's office and asked to speak with Gwatney. When the secretary said she wouldn't allow him to meet with Gwatney, the man went into his office and shot him, Lee said. FBI spokesman Steve Frazier said his agency was assisting in the investigation but could not offer any details. Last November, a distraught man wearing what appeared to be a bomb walked into a Clinton campaign office in New Hampshire and demanded to speak to the candidate about access to mental health care. A hostage drama dragged on for nearly six hours until he peacefully surrendered. The confrontation brought Clinton's campaign to a standstill just five weeks before the New Hampshire primary. Security for her was increased as a precaution. She said she did not know the suspect. Link I really find this to be disturbing, especially since just a couple of weeks ago another gunman killed several members of a church in TN because he perceived them to be 'liberal'. One caller on a radio show today, who claimed to be a psychologist with 33 years of experience, said that after listening to conservative talk radio for some time, he thought that they were laying the foundations for violence against people who describe themselves as liberal. I think that guy is right. Right now I live in Texas and the hatred that you can hear every single day in right wing radio is just unbelievable. I considered myself a Republican during the time I lived in West Palm, but after moving here I reached the conclusion that I have nothing in common with these so called conservatives. By listening to the callers it seems to me that most people who listen to these "talkshow hosts" are very hateful , frustrated and not very smart individuals. The caller did mention something about him finding that the people most affected by these radio hosts' rhetoric were the lesser-educated. further proof of the massive grip ignorance, hate and fear has on this country the day that old rich white men arent running this country...is a day im lookining forward to more than the phins winning the superbowl
