Catholic Schools Closing...
Disagree. I think a 'better educated' society comes from having diverse schools and having less close minded people like you. Wrong. I'm extremely open-minded and will happily believe that religion of any form has benefits the day anyone can actually validate objectively anything any of them claim. In the meantime all it does is impose close-minded thinking (look up "dogma" in the dictionary) that ergo can do nothing other than impede educated points of view. Hence my comments. i agree...i have christian friends who claim to be very open minded people who also think cuba is full of godless communists who wish to destory america...and this is a small example... people need to think for themself rather than bow down to someone who claims he can talk to god...

What I find ridiculous about the current debate
What I dislike most about Penguino is that he is 100% sure he is right and that everyone else is an idiot. Keynesians are right about some things and wrong about others. Likewise, the economists he follows are probably right about some things and wrong about others. No one has a monopoly on the truth. bingo was his name-o

2009 Miami Dolphins Schedule
yeah but at least 3 of those teams will flop from where they are now...and new england wont be as strong, jets will have a totally new system and same results, and the bills are the bills...i still think we can win 10-11 games depending on what holes we fill with free agents and the draft

first of all...what we have been doing in afghanistan so far is lookin for bin laden and destroying poppy fields...which has caused the warlords and owners of that land to double their efforts into getting these people to grow poppy... heroin is the chief drug that supplies money for many terrorist related activities...by giving these farmers and encouraging local warlords and land owners to grow other crops, we effectively kill two birds with one stone by reducing the amount of the drug that comes into this country and we limit the funding for radicals in the area... afghanistan needs to be controlled in one way or another right IMO...do i think we should set up a whole infrastructure and build them a government like we did in iraq? hell no...but there are steps that need to taken so that it doesnt become a threat in its own region to nuclear armed countries and its no longer a threat to the american way of life... oh...and its quite funny that you are telling me to read a history book...when anyone who knows a f***ing thing about history realizes that what a democrat and a republican nowadays represent are almost completely different than what it represented even 30 years ago, nevermind what it meant around WW 1... and if you want to have the United States running around like its the world police, then bash the league of nations and UN and EU and etc. all you want...if you dont think we should be world cop #1, then WE should all be backing these alliances because they will stop problem nations from becoming bigger problems...you really cant have your cake here and eat it by yourself in the world now... and the spreading of democracy by force is a very old american trick...we tried to do it with cuba and the phillipines, after ww II, we tried to convince everyone that democracy was the way to go and we did...and those who didnt listen...we tried to kill their leaders or we flat out invaded them (korea, vietnam)...and hmmmm...let me think...wasnt there a certain Republican president who spread the vietnam war? and the dumb W. who invaded not one, but two countries? america at war goes together like peanut butter and jelly...which is why we need to rid ourselves of this military industrial complex we have in this country...im sorry...but as cool as the F-22 raptor is...WE DONT f***ING NEED IT!!!!...we need to spend money educating children on how to see through differences without use of weaponry and stop it with your blind loyalist bulls***...because...i actually think for myself and not post whatever ron paul tells me to

Then why are you defending Obama? It is his platform to build the nations of other countries. It is his stated policy: A stepped up military commitment must be backed by a long-term investment in the Afghan people. We will start with an additional $1 billion in non military assistance each year ? aid that is focused on reaching ordinary Afghans. We need to improve daily life by supporting education, basic infrastructure and human services. We have to counter the opium trade by supporting alternative livelihoods for Afghan farmers. And we must call on more support from friends and allies, and better coordination under a strong international coordinator. That is nation-building. That is why we are going broke and why we are the enemy of the Muslim world. This is not wise policy. It seems like you even might sincerely agree that this is absurd for our government to be doing but you would rather kneel at the alter of St. Barack. you clearly cannot read between the lines then penguino...this isnt nation building...its a part of the war on drugs...non-military assistance to afghans in the form of education and basic human services, shows me that Obama wants all these afghan farmers to grow crops other than poppy...and by educating them to do so is killing birds with one stone...you cut off where heroin comes from and you give a better livelihood to those who could seek out the teachings of radical islam... and i did a 50 page report on al-qaeda back in college...their main purpose is taking our boots off of their land...which i have no problem with whatsoever...ive made the analogy of throwing rocks at bee hives for quite some time on here and it applies as much today as it did then... How is an escalation of the conflict going to get us off of their soil any sooner? so far he agreed to the bombing which killed terrorists and wants to put more troops on the ground to back up the plan which i just talked about...whats your problem with that? quote] At what human cost? We have been bombing this country for eight years and have we accomplished anything? You're right, we don't have the money. This current strategy clearly isn't working and we can't afford to sustain it in a monetary sense. We are bombing these countries and then paying to rebuild them. The best way to end terrorist and insurgency is to end the occupation. i agree with you here...again...the US needs to stop throwing rocks at beehives...but when not bombing, re-education is a very useful tool Doesn't really make sense. We could follow a non-interventionist foreign policy if we didn't elect people like Bush or Obama. There is a flawed mentality among our people that we need to police the world. And to say that's the way it has always been is a flat out lie. Our country was founded on the principles of non-intervention and we were strongly advised to follow this path. We maintained reasonable neutrality for some time but it wasn't until the war-mongering Democrats propagated this belief that it was our nation's role to spread democracy around the globe through force. the flawed mentality of us policing the world came when we won WW II on two different fronts...therefore giving americans a superiourity complex that we are just in whatever we do to whomever we please whenever we want...those ideas are not limited to bush... i agree that we should stay out of foreign affairs for the most part...but thats just not going to happen when we have so many people in this country eager to screw everyone else out of a buck...sorry...but money dictates our foreign policy much more than right or wrong and you will just have to swallow hard and accept that penguino... and war-mongering democrats...i LOL'd...thanks...i needed that laugh after a long day or snow and sleet

maybe we can start on solving some of these domestic problems which you mention...SUCH AS MOTHER-f***ING GLOBAL WARMING!!! I'd love to know how you came to the conclusion that global warming is a domestic problem? domestic=our problem global=everyone's problem are we a part of everyone? i think we are...make sense to you?

but we are staying the course in afghanistan and pakistan which i think is a good thing... Why? because this is where a vast amount of american dissent in the world can be found, as well as those who wish us harm...am i advocating staying there to rebuild the country when we are "done" there? hardly...in fact...i think thats a dumb idea...what ever happened to the america that just liked to blow sh*t up and leave once the fire died? Did you ever consider the possibility that our very presence and tendency to "build" these nations is why our country is resented around the world? Why do these people wish us harm? Have you ever read Osama Bin Laden's declarations of war against the United States (pre 9/11)? Do we have the money to rebuild a country thousands of miles from our shores when we have countless domestic problems? When we are running a 10 trillion dollar deficit? Why doesn't Switzerland need to build these nations to ensure its safety? What are the conditions for victory in Afghanistan? if you could read...you would be able to see that im NOT advocating the building of islamic democracies...no no no no no and i did a 50 page report on al-qaeda back in college...their main purpose is taking our boots off of their land...which i have no problem with whatsoever...ive made the analogy of throwing rocks at bee hives for quite some time on here and it applies as much today as it did then... right now...we are bombing suspected terrorist strongholds in the region trying to get as many of them as we can...which isnt a wholely awful plan...i think re-education is a better tactic, but then again...i dont have trillions of dollars of toys to play with either... and again...countries like switzerland dont have a military complex...since the dawn of this country...if we fear something, we kill it...thats the way it has always been...when we figure out how to try to get over that problem, maybe we can start on solving some of these domestic problems which you mention...SUCH AS MOTHER-f***ING GLOBAL WARMING!!! sorry, penguino had to get that out of my system...anyways...personally...i think the conditions of victory in afghanistan is a big ass pile of dead terrorists and a little peace and quiet...and while that answer sounds juvenile...remember...all Obama has to do is make us think he has won...and he has...because you could sell beachfront property in colorado to americans and they will buy it in a second flat...which is why instead of pouring trillions into the iraqi toilet, we should have been spending the money on educating the generations behind us to question every little thing anyone says

penguino is absolutely right, you guys are just too blinded by Obama's persona to be able to see it. My platoon nabbed 4 taliban operatives (one of whom was from chechnya), turned them over to our HET guys, and they're at GITMO right now. There are no innocent men there and GITMO is no different than any other international military prison, it's just the news media decided to put it all over the news so people think it's a big deal and it's not. If it closes then every prisoner there will just be transferred to another prison and nothing will change except a bunch of blind liberals feeling good about themselves when the reality is there are hundreds of GITMO's all over the world that are no different and these prisoners will now be living in far worse conditions than they were before because the news media will no longer be watching them 24/7 like they were at GITMO. You got one detention facility closed out of hundreds - good job you really made a difference in the lives of terrorists. Fact of the matter is places like GITMO exist, need to exist, and will always exist. Closing GITMO is no different than banning guns, allowing gays in the military, etc. They're just feel good laws when in reality accomplish absolutely nothing. "gitmo" goes against everything we stand for as a country...and irregardless of the fact that these people are not american citizens, it does not mean we have the right to do with as we please... if you start a war, fight it to win...which is clearly what we didnt do in iraq...but we are staying the course in afghanistan and pakistan which i think is a good thing... and closing "gitmo" will do a tremendous amount of good for us in the eyes of the world...it shows that we are ending this silly war on terror and beginning a war on those who wish to do us harm...and there is a clear difference between the two at the very least...closing these cia bulls*** prisons will start us on the true path or peace...which is re-education...which is the best, non-violent method of dealing with these people

Pro Israeli Rally in Fort Lauderdale
Here are some pics of the attacks: http://www.flickr.com/photos/thecameraclicks/ Fights, not attacks. that is why sides never get along. They enjoy exacerbation. :banghead I'm not on either side, I just don't like to see weasel words like that. Attacks make it seem like one group was completely peaceful and that the other group what completely the aggressor. Well, I'm not exactly agreeing with him, but I don't think you can say that there is an equal amount of violence between the two sides. you are right, israeli's are way more violent
