White is not a big enough improvement to give up prospects for. Especially not enough to give away Castro. If we can't get Giles or Guillen then we should stick with Cabrera.

Hey I decided to compare White's stats to Cabrera's. I figured out at his current rate what Cabs numbers would be if he had the same amount of ABs as White. Rondell White BA OBP HR RBI .273 .327 16 54 Miguel Cabrera (projected if he had the same amount of ABs as White) BA OBP HR RBI .243 .307 16 61 Other than a lower batting average Cabrera's numbers are just as good. Nice study farmer...plus the added benefit of having him develop...Rondell does get on base a little more, but his defense/athleticism probably isnt near Cabs. Id say Guillen or Giles are the only SIGNIFICANT upgrades. Id still like to get Matt Stairs though. Stairs can play 1b right? He could fill in for Lee occasionally. :mischief2

I dont want Jacque Jones...the guy is overrated. Anyone watching the games has noticed Miguel's increasing plate discipline....in his last 18 AB's he has 7 hits including a near miss homer which bounced off the yellow...and a few walks. I'm glad hes making it difficult on us. Plus he gunned another runner down! I say unless we can get Giles or Guillen we should not get a left fielder. I think a solid lefthanded reliever is more important.

Armando Almanza is the only player in Marlin history I have ever lost faith in so quickly... He can still gain it back with a few good outings, but not permanently... Does Vladimir Nunez ring a bell?

Phils bullpen was also used up and they did't need that with Duckworth taking the hill tomorrow. Also I think this game could really bring this team together while doing the opposite to the Phillies. Really heartbreaking to lose a game like that. When you're standing out there in the field and watching runners get walked home I'm telling you it's the worst feeling in the world for a fielder.

What do you guys think about this, I'm starting to think that we need a left-handed reliever more than we need a left-fielder. Another bat would be nice but our bullpen is still not to playoff caliber.
