forget it.... this is the supposed offer from the A's.... Brian Giles for Mark Ellis, Eric Byrnes, and possibly a couple of the following Nick Swisher, Aaron Harang, Shane Komine, John Rheinecker and Freddie Bynum... that is a major deal, and we cant afford to deal away those type of players Shane Komine is in the A's system? He was a hell of a pitcher in college with the Huskers. Doesn't throw very hard but has pinpoint control, and good offspeed stuff.

I just thought of something, with the Rockies slipping out of wild card contention, they might become sellers. I wonder if they will be looking to trade Admin Walker. We could give them prospects and they might be willing to eat some of his salary.

I want to see Abraham Nunez get a chance. He could be our utility guy he can play the outfield and middle infield.

Byrd is going to be a heck of a player, but people don't realize how good pierre is going to be. He's going to lead the majors and steals every year, and I can see him contend for a batting title down the road.

I re-read your post and I think I misunderstood. Did you mean that we will resign Pudge, Lowell and Encarnacion and get rid of Lee and Castillo. I don't see it happening before the deadline but it is possible. I was thinking you meant we will resign Pudge and get rid of the rest.

After seeing what the team does when Pudge is hot... And assuming we won't have Castillo next year... And most likely won't have Lee... And may not have Lowell and Encarnacion... How important is it to sign Pudge? Think of how much less production we would be getting from, say, a Castro/Redmond platoon...and we most likely won't even have Redmond next year...something like Castro/Willingham... Where do you draw the line on the amount to pay for Pudge? i think the Marlins will re-sign Pudge , Lowell and Encarnacion and Lee and Castillo will be traded b-4 the July 31st deadline Why the hell would we do that? Trade 4 players in their mid 20s just keep a guy in his mid-30s I don't think so. lol. :blink:

*RHP Denny Bautista is the Human Torch. Bautista struckout 11 batters in 7 innings of one-run ball to improve to 4-0 with Double-A Carolina as the Mudcats held off Jacksonville, 4-3. Bautista would only allow 3 hits and one walk in his 7 innings of work and he also doubled in a run. 5-tool. The 20-year-old Dominican has a 1.82 ERA in 5 starts with Carolina and has registered 36 strikeouts in 29.2 innings, walking just 9. Bautista in as hot as can be. He's darn good. :w00t

Man, I'd really like to have Mike back for the Phillies series at least. We have Philly and Arizona back to back and that's going to be huge.

Hey what about instead of getting Weathers or Alfonseca. We could get a guy we discussed earlier, Kerry Lightenberg. In my opinion he is a better pitcher than Weathers or Alfonseca.

Damn, I hate Bonds. The Babe will always be the greatest no matter what. Let's not forget that Ruth was a great Pitcher also, and there wasn't all these muscle enhancing products when Ruth was around. It sounds like Bonds need to get over himself.
