I really think we have a playoff caliber line-up. A left-handed power bat would be nice, but it's not likely to happen. Our run for the playoff's is all gonna come down to if we get consistent pitching. Let's face it our bullpen has been inconsistent, and Beckett, Penny and Pavano have been inconsistent. One night they look great and the next start they get the crap hit out of them. So I think consistent pitching will be the deciding factor in a playoff run.

If I were offered that trade Lee for Ponson, I'd have a hard time turning it down. The guy is tied for the AL lead in wins and is a legitimate #1, or #2 start. but I also wouldn't want to mess with our line-up. I don't know what I would do.

Now that we have Urbina. We shouldn't make any trade with the Orioles unless we can get Ponson, and we'd have to give up a lot to get him. What if we could get Ponson for Lee, straight up? :mischief2

I think we overpaid, but you also have to factor in that these guys were expendable. We have Stokes so we could get rid of Gonzalez. Our outfield is pretty much set for the future, and we have plenty of good pitching prospects so that made Snare expendable. That makes it a little easier for me to take.

both Tejera and Almanza should be in AAA. One of them will be when spooney comes back, unless they send bump down.

As much as I wish it was Tejera or Almanza, it will probably be levrault. The real question is who will get sent down when spooney comes back?

Odalis Perez is a very, VERY valuable young pitcher to have. Pitching is always more valuable than offense... Not if you're the dodgers.

I heard that the LA times reported that Simon's teammate Brian Giles is available and the Dodgers are trying to get him for Odalis Perez. Wouldn't that be great if we could work out a deal for Giles. Give them Penny and a couple of prospects. It would never happen, but it's nice to dream.

I'd take Burnitz over Gonzalez any day.

I brought this up in a baltimore orioles board and most of them said they would definetly do Conine and Lightenberg for Lee and Wayne. I know that doesn't mean much, just thought I'd bring it up.
