  1. What's nice with this win is that the offense finally contributed to one.
  2. A well deserved win for cishek. What a pitch! Yep...and unfortunately tomorrow we get stuck with fat Bell. Giving him more than one run to play with would help.
  3. Cishek 4-0 win record -- well deserved tonight!
  4. Time for another two homer inning.
  5. Good God, I went out after the first innings -- almost 4 hours ago -- and come back and they're still playing! Ugh! Welcome to Heath Bell pitching =) Yeah -- the plan was supposed to be give him a 7 run cushion, but I guess JJ didn't get with the program.

  7. Geez, Hanley, d'ya think you could be a little more patient at the plate?
  8. Ideal scenario for the day. JJ goes 8 innings, leaves with a 7-0 lead, and Bell pitches the ninth and begins to work things out without any chance of jeapordizing the win.
  9. Good teams get tough wins when things aren't going well. Marlins will be on a tear once their bats get going, if the pitching holds up.
  10. This series: +3 in the win column, +3 in the run colunn. That's efficient baseball (or heartattack baseball)
  11. Available, but not anticipated...
  12. Heath bell is a fat joke, most hatted man in miami right now Spelling mistake aside, I don't get this attitude. Do you think Bell is deliberately trying to sabotage games, or is being a slacker in some ways? What's with the personal hatred of people who are going through a rough stretch? Odds are he's more mortified than anyone that this is happening to him and the team. Do you think he doesn't care that he looks like a goat almost every time he takes the mound these days? If he's been lying to the Marlins in any way about his physical fitness or hasn't been putting in a 100% effort, then fine, he deserves to be knocked for that (but hated?), but so far nobody's supplied any evidence to support that. We'll see what happens in next few days, but from what Ozzie said after the game, Bell is already no longer the closer, and will be given a chance to correct his problems in other relief situations. I, for hope, hope he does, because having a reliable 40-save closer in your side gives us a better chance of getting to the playoffs. If it turns out he's a bust, then fine, he was a bad investment, but unless Bell has done something foolish or selfish to destroy his own form, even then, why the hate?
  13. Bell's not done yet -- you don't give up on $9 million that fast. He's going to get a chance to straighten things out by pitching in earlier innings. Maybe he will, maybe he won't, but unless he really is injured, he's going to be out there pitching again in the next two or three days.
  14. No Idea why we don't have a replay yet. Hurts the "purity of the game" or some such nonsense. A two appeals per game system (probably not including balls and strikes, at least initially) would work fine -- except they would be better off with a replay official in the TV booth instead of having all the umps huddle around a TV screen in the dugout. Employing an extra umpire for that (even at less pay) could be a sop to the umpires.
  15. Seems like everyone wants a quick game tonight.
  16. That was strike three wtf ump Even the Mets commentators were wondering where that pitch was.
  17. That was just JJ's equivalent of Vazquez's first innings jitters...
  18. People in the comments said he got caught on the way out of the stadium.
  19. Phillies just lost -- Marlins back to two games back in the standings. Hanging on in there... We're up 2 games in the WC Lets not even look at the WC until we're a good 130 games in. As long as we stay a handful of games behind the Phillies, were going to be at or very near the top of the WC standings.
  20. Your League Leader in Saves AND STILL the Champion, LEOOOO NUUUUUUNEZ!! Clearly, Leo prefers to win on points...

  22. Both offenses were shut down today. Indeed, thankfully Mike Stanton's line drive base hits have the ability to be HRs. Rigglemen said off the bat he thought it had the trajectory of a single hahaha. One of the Nats commentators said that they had never seen a ball reach that part of the park before, not even on the bounce.
  23. More wins, fewer losses, lower ERA and WHIP -- a surefire win, no? Yeah... I know... it's the Marlins...
  24. I prefer not to go looking for problems when the Marlins have enough to contend with already.
