i agree with him completely. if hanley or miggy were on the mets or braves they would be mvp candidates and talked about as one of the games' best players. but because he's on the marlins, he doesn't ge the attention he deserves.

i foresee many more blown games by our bullpen due to dead arms that were very overused over the course of the season. fredi will start with the lefty-righty matchups in the 5th inning, thus using 6 pitchers in a normal game. he can not march out guys that many times and expect them to be good come the last 30 games of the season.
  3. i'll be there rooting the home team on! it's important that dontrell finds his comand soon. the way our bullpen is (over)used, we need the d-train to start eatting up innings like he's done so well for us the past 4 seasons.

  5. i hope they can find some way to keep him. unlike some others in the past that were fan favorites, cabs has superstar potential.

until he figures out how to put an off spead pitch in play, much less get a hit, he'll be a detriment to the team sandwiched between hanley and cabs.
  8. not to mention wild pitches and pass balls are not counted as errors.
  9. the errors of laziness and fundamental breakdowns get me. no way hermeda should drop a fly ball or hanley lolligag a routine groundout and throw the ball in the dirt. that's laziness and poor fundamentals. to me, that's lack of either leadership or lack of emphasis on practice and fundamentals; both of which fredi is solely responsible.
  10. jacobs did a tremendous job of stretching for the ball too. i thought he was safe the first time i saw it, but the replay showed he was out by 1/4 of a step. that has to go down as one of the top 10 plays of the year.
  11. the dissapointing thing is the way we are losing...errors, baserunning mistakes, sloppy fielding, swinging at pitches in the dirt on a reguar basis. while the walk to maddux is not an error, it's bad baseball. there was no reason to do anything but throw him fastballs and let him whack at some with 2 strikes.
  12. i thought gardner was sent down not too long ago. looks like he's heading back soon too. this entire inning would be moot if it wasn't for errors by uggs and hermida. do we take any fielding practice at all?????
  13. eventhough warnings were issued, a pitcher is not automatically tossed upon a hits batsman. there still has to be intention. it was a horrible call. horrific actually. if anyone saw the braves-cubs game sunday, the same thing happened in the 2nd or 3rd inning. that was a 1-2 count and the starting pitcher. and there wasn't even a warning issued there. there should be some sort of explanation by mcnight after the game. an ump should not be able to effect a game THAT MUCH with poor judgement.
  14. go fish! the day off and solid performance from olsen the other night should do wonders to help our overtaxed bullpen. here's to sanchez going 7 or 8 strong innings tonight!
  15. black shirts reminds me of the 2003 march thru the playoffs. i wish they'de wear them MORE often.
  16. i can't figure out this strike zone. looked like a few of hurk's pitches were pretty damn good. i guess that's the penalty you get for not hitting your target.
  17. fredi is the one who put juli in during a 1-0 game with the heart of the astros coming up. i blame fredi 100%. not only for tonight, but for having zero strategy how to use the pitching staff. the decision to put vanden hurk in sunday and mess up the rotation was as bad as puting julio in tonight.
  18. i agree with fredi. julio has to get out there and pitch. however, it should NOT be in critical situations such as saves. he should come in only during blow outs or middle relief when the bottom of the order is up. and he needs to be on a short leash if he starts getting walk happy. hopefully he can be a contributing part of our bullpen at somepoint this season.
  19. we used the day off on thursday as a substitute for a 5th starter.
  20. i can't lose faith in julio as a closer as i never had any. he's a set up guy, not a slam the door shut guy. we don't have one of those this season unless tank comes on real strong so we'll have to get creative to hold on to wins.
  21. i blame fredi for this loss. not having anyone warming up after you see your "closer" struggling is poor managing. i think we're in going to see a few bumps in the road this year as fredi has to learn how to manage on this level.
  22. i happy if they stay in south florida, but i'm not at all excited about having to drive to hialeah. it's hard enough to get to JRS for 7 o'clock games.
