Dontrelle doesn't want to be traded
Trust me. I have my sources. Willis is not being traded until a stadium deal is done somewhere, if he's traded at all. Loria loves him. The rest of this thread is a puff piece. "Willis is happy here". What's he supposed to say. He's unhappy here. The fact is he is happy here. He's young, making milions, living in Miami. If it was you would you want to be traded? Yeahhh I'd want to be on the first plane out of here. Dontrelle is the type of player that would be the hero of a city if he played in a baseball town... Chicago, Cincinnatti, New York, Boston, Philly.... those are towns that absolutley would love having the kid. He is such a unique player I think it's so sad that he's stuck here pitching in front of 3,500 for a garbage team. He's teh type of player that deserves the chance to shine in another market. You KNOW the Cubs would love to have him back. We'd love to have him in Fenway. Thing is that LHPs have a lower success rate there, but he'd most likely win more than he'd lose. Also a bit of trivia here. If Dontrelle managed to get here, he'd be playing with Julian Tavarez and Matt Clement...he and Tavarez were traded to the Marlins for Clement. Fact of life. Until July 31, the rumors will be flying. Nothing you can do but just live with them. The Rays announcers on FSN just reminded me that Lowell has 22 doubles. Thank you so very much (Looks good with the goatee that Joey Pitbull would have made him get rid of)

So Joe, how long?!
How long until you release Herges and Wellemeyer. They don't know how to learn! Theya re holding the team back SO MUCH! I KNOW messenger could have held us scoreless. When did Joe G become the GM? Well, he's certainly the USMC DI type, isn't he? Go ahead, release Herges. He'll get picked up within a few days Yea, hopefully by the RedSox so he can blow every game he pitches for them. Terry Francona is no Joey Pitbull. Al Nipper is no Rick Kranitz I could see Herges being signed to a PawSox deal; he goes there to get his confidence back and then he hops on I-95 for that lovely 45 min drive to Fenway. If the Sox don't get him, somebody will. Are you having fun trolling? Are you having fun responding to my posts? To paraphrase Neil Rogers, well if I saw a guy trolling, I'd sure want to respond to his posts...

Dontrelle doesn't want to be traded
Dontrelle is overrated. With the way some of our young guys can pitch, I don't think it would be the worst thing to get a load of talent in return for him when he isn't doing that much for us anyway. :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :plain :plain :plain :lol :lol :lol :banghead some people take things for granted don't they? Yes. I woulde die to have Trelle on the Reds. I have a feeling that BoSox 3B coach DeMarlo Hale would GLADLY relinquish #35 if what us Sox fans are dreaming about actually came to fruition Won't happen, tho. No way in Hallandale--oops--Hell would you see Jon Lester or David Murphy or Abe Alvarez in a Marlins uniform. Imagine Willis and Arroyo in the same rotation...What could have been in Fenway... :bangdesk

Find a real Closer NOW
i have to say red sox fan are also apart of the evil empire i am supposed to think that the red sox are any different from the yankees they prey on mlb's weak just as much as the yankees they are as much a product of money as the yankees both are successful by raping teams like the marlins . Red sox suck just like the Yankees Calling the Red Sox a part of the Yankees Evil Empire is like saying that both the Marlins and Rays suck on purpose (and for the record, I have never said that..just using a metaphor). We're raping other teams?? Look at the Twins. We gave them a pretty good OFer named Lew Ford for a former Marlin named Hector Carrasco. There's some guy in Houston named Bagwell. Pirates aren't too sad to have a kid named Freddie Sanchez at 2nd. Notice how Bronson Arroyo is doing with the Reds this year? Cub fans LOVE this kid Matt Murton. 10 min from me is The Trop. Over there, the Devil Rays got a southpaw named Casey Fossum. Yeah, I know the Rays got him from the D'Backs, but where did the D'backs get him from? The Sox in the Schilling deal. And who's that wearing #2 for the Marlins? Some kid I fell in love with who played for the SaraSox a few years ago. Hanley something-or-other...name escapes me. So before you lump the Sox in with King George's Bronx Fiefdom, remember that it was Old Baldy Wayne that tore apart the Marlins franchise after the '97 Series. *He* "raped" the Marlins. Maybe if teams like the Marlins and Pirates didn't have fire sales in the off-season and around the trade deadline, maybe they'd be contenders a hell of a lot more often.

When will Sox fans realise that they are just as bad as any Yankee/Mets fans, the 'curse' is gone and so is the pity and sympathy. They are no longer the underdog, just another franchise with a huge payroll, and overhyped prospects (note not including Shadez). Everyone had a soft spot for the Sox including myself, but after they won it all the fans (and that particular arrogant bunch of players) left a very sour taste not only in my mouth but many others around the world, meaning they are disliked almost as much as the 'Evil Empire' who I find I prefer now to watch as they aren't trying to be something they are not. And back on topic, K-Mart for closer, Kensing for the 8th and Tank (coming up soon) for the 7th. Don't lump us in with Yankee fans. We aren't uncouth. I guess your dislike of Boston must go back to, about 1775...? "Overhyped prospects"? Yeah, I wish we still had Hanley, but we have Pedroia on the PawSox, so I'm not too worried. As long as The Evil Empire is ruled by Darth Steinbrenner, they are still hated a hell of a lot more than the Sox And Met fans aren't that bad. I'm married to one. Now back to topic. Like I said..need a closer? Trade for Foulke. The Marlins need a GOOD closer, not a washed up one that makes alot of cash. And if you represent Red Sox nation, then you are worse then Yankee fans. However you don't because there are good fans like Passion. I'd like to hit Lotto tonite, too. That's not going to happen. Foulke is still good. We wouldn't have broken The Curse without him. But while he was down, Papelbon settled in the closer role. With the way Papelbon has performed, it's impractical to all of a sudden to put Foulke back in a closer. And supposedly, Foulke isn't too happy now with the Sox. He wants to close, you guys need a closer. Makes sense to me to look at him. Not like I'm suggesting a Willis for Foulke deal here

Sergio Mitre
I still think Mitre can be useful in the future. He has great movement on his fastball and a nice sinker, if only he can eliminate that one bad inning. I'd love to see him as our 5th starter on this team in 2008 AKA the World Series year. 1. Willis 2. Nolasco 3. Johnson 4. Olsen 5. Mitre With a bullpen of Anibel, K-Mart , Tank,Vargas, Kensing and...others. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I love the pitching we have. :drool We are so freakin' loaded. Trust me...I didn't like seeing Anibal Sanchez handed over to you guys...this is a kid to watch!

Yeah the Marlins will trade for Foulke's salary. :plain And that isn't an insult at all to the Marlins, it would be a stupid thing to do. Like selling the team to a guy who more or less killed baseball in Montreal... I have to laugh...all the years I lived in Broward..Neil Rogers was right. Like the thread said..you need a closer. Foulke could be had, but if you guys want to rival the '62 Mets... There is no way we will rival the Mets all-time loss record. Your posts saying the Marlins should trade Olsen for Foulke and Snow (both bums) are insulting. As is your Josh Beckett avatar in BoSox attire. It is no suprise you are from Tampa Bay. Oh, my avatar ticks you off? I could change it to a Mike Lowell (in full goatee) if you like. I even have a Hee Seop Choi one floating floating around. I don't have photoshop or I would create one that might reflect the future (I think that Sox 3B coach DeMarlo Hale would gladly relinquish #35, if ya catch my drift). Yes, I live in the Tampa Bay area, but I am a Boston area native (trust me..this area bites. I don't drive a pickup truck, can't stand NASCAR and I have all but one of my teeth). Hear me speak, you hear "pahk the cah." I'm also a Patriots, Celtics and Bruins fan as well. When I was still living in Tamarac, I'd be at the OB/JRS watching the Pats filet the Fins (ah that AFC Championship game!), at The Arena watching the Celts lower the Heat and the Bruins tame the Panthers. And yes, in '98 when the Sox came to JRS (sorry, I have too much respect for Mr. Robbie to call it anything else), I was there for all three games. Olsen for Foulke and Snow? Like you think you'd get Jon Lester, Abe Alvarez or David Murphy? (dang..I gotta listen to "Here To Stay" by KoRn more often when I post...brings the best out in me) Wow, a true troll testimonial. Well done. You have lived up to my expectations of a Red Sox fan, as most of my family are living in New England and are Red Sox fans. I know what to expect. Not to mention the obnoxious Sox fans who show up at Dolphins Stadium when the Sox are in town. They rival New York fans in their sheer offensiveness and d***a**ery. Actually, we are supposed to be at the throats of Yankee fans..they are more obnoxious than us genteel Beantowners are. At least we make proper chowder...they put TOMATO JUICE in it! So, I take it, your famly is comprised of "obnoxious" Red Sox fans? At least our team isn't managed by a control freak and a bully... Kind of sad...I-95 and Sunrise would have been a good place for a stadium.... What word is d***a**ry?

Even the worst Marlins teams had a real closer.....the psyche/development of this young team could be hurt long term if they can't close out games. The 1993 Marlins had Bryan Harvey....we've had Nen, Alfonseca, even Braden Looper closed out alot of games successfully. With a real closer, you'd be talking about a team hovering around the .500 mark. Loria needs to open up his wallet just a little and Beinfest get creative...FIND THIS TEAM A CLOSER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :banghead You can have Keith Foulke We'll gladly take Scott Olsen Do you want to make sweet love to Olsen? All your posts say you'll take Scott Olsen. Hey...if Joey Pitbull don't want him, we'll take him. You guys need a closer. Papelbon is our closer now, with Hansen in-waiting down I-95 @ Pawtucket. Next year, Papelbon will be in the rotation after Wells hangs them up. Hansen then becomes the closer. Foulke will definitely be odd man out at that point You need a closer. Grab Foulke now. Seems that in 2003, you guys did pretty good with two former BoSoxers in your bullpen... Beinfest should call Theo now. Theo just got engaged, so he's in a real good mood these days... (Hell, we'll even throw in J.T. Snow...we gotta make room for a former Marlin named Choi, ya know...)

Marlins talk on PTI
Bob Ryan doesn't know enough about the Florida Marlins to even make an educated guess. I was born in Boston and i'd say I have a pretty decent Boston accent, but even I can't stand friggen Bob Ryan's voice and accent, he sounds like a pregnant woman on a rollercoaster. I'd put Ryan and Shaughnessy over (as Neil Rogers calls him) Barry Jackass anyday...

Scott O. vs. Joe G.
I'd just grow a beard and tell Girardi to KMA. Trolls can grow facial hair? Too bad the Marlins can't because Joey Pitbull is a uptight anal-retentive control freak. Let's see what would happen if maybe five players..all stars...defied Joey Pitbull. McKeon had respect..as did Leyland and Lachemann and Boles. Joey Pitbull hasn't managed before. Hard to believe Italy wanted him to manage them in the WBC. Good thing they changed their minds. Eventually, his act is going to wear thin...assuming King George Of The Bronx first doesn't make a deal to get Girardi in the Yankee dugout after Torre gets canned because of another post-season choke. Marlins should have stayed in-house and hired Tony Perez..he deserves a second chance after what Mad marge did to him in Cincy. Or have brought Cookie Rojas back. Or if they had a NY fetish...Manny Acta. All have had extensive coaching experience, unlike GI Joe.

Scott O. vs. Joe G.
No major league team can be forced to keep a player on it's 25 man roster who hasn't the required service time and/or available options. Sorry but Hrabosky had seven or eight years of service time. The two are simply not comparable. Ditto Tolan. Ummm...service time wasn't the point I was referring to here...

OH and if Olsen grew a mustache he would no longer be playing for the Marlins because either A) Suspended and/or B) Traded Everyone is expendable simple as that. A) Watch the Players Association file a grievance so fast, Joey Pitbull's head will spin. The names Vern Rapp and Al Hrabosky ring any history bells? B) I'd take him in Fenway in a second. Actually what would happen to Olsen is he'd be demoted, which may happen anyways when Martinez, German and Mitre are healthy. Olsen has plenty of options left. He doesn't do what he's told, adios. And this idea that the Player's Association would intercede is just bulls***, plain and simple. Donald Fehr may be the chief steroid/drug enabler in the game but he knows where to pick his fights and he isn't going to war over an underachieving rookie's moustache. See Bobby Tolan v The Reds and Al Hrabosky v Vern Rapp

I love how no one says anything about the Yanks all being shaved. Probably why Boston has a problem with it or something :lol But yea if he grew a mustache I will assure he would not be on this team. As much as I dislike the Yankees, they do allow mustaches, unless Ron Guidry and Tony Pena have been drinking chocolate milk and not wiping their upper lips. Wonder if Girardi would have demanded to be traded from the '72 A's...? Like I said...I'd take Olsen on the Sox...

A boss should NEVER grab an employee. Joe Girardi was wrong and owes Olsen a public apology. That being said, Scott Olsen better grow up fast. Do you know the diffrence between an actual job and a sport that involves media and attention? To compare this to Bobby Knight is quite a stretch. Excatly. Red Sox guy, you seem to have some beef with Joe Girardi other than this incident. I can sense something else, what gives ? Is it because he was a Yankee ? I don't dislike Willie Randolph. I just don't like control-freaks who focus on personal freedoms that have no effect on performance. Girardi is one. Did you know Olsen has an attitude problem at times? did you not read what I said before? Giardi WAS justified in what he did. If one of your players under the age of 24 started mouthing off at an ump, do you think this would lead to good things in the future of this player and how other people viewed him? Giardi is trying to keep class to this young team. It's like raising a children at times, they are all rooks and have no veteran to actually look up too. thats like allowing a five year old kid to cuss out his teacher and just watch it happen. They play the sport well, they are in the majors, just cause they can drive and are older then 21 does not mean they are mature in the sport and know they should act up on every ump. You know, Carl "The Clubhouse Cancer" Everett is the perfect encyclopedia description of "attitude problem" Even Jimy Williams never grabbed him or anything. Yeah, I know that Everett and Girardi would have literally destroyed each other. Yep..must be OK to grab a student. Seems that normally teachers get docked for that. If Girardi had a brain, he'd have let Olsen cool down a bit before talking to him, not grabbing him. Girardi bringing class to the franchise? USMC grooming standards? No wonder we got Beckett and Lowell... I'd say championships are class. Leyland and McKeon brought class to the franchise. A boss should NEVER grab an employee. Joe Girardi was wrong and owes Olsen a public apology. That being said, Scott Olsen better grow up fast. Exactly. Anbother way to look at it is that Joey Pitbull is a teacher of sorts and Olsen is a pupil. Teachers grabbing students? What message is THAT to a kid watching? My wife is a teacher and tells me what Girardi did was wrong as well. People who are saying what he did was wrong are funny people. There are no cubicles and no 11 year old girls in the classroom. I have a question...there has to be someone in here who was in the armed forces...If your ranking officer grabbed you by the shirt what would you do? nothing because it is a part of the job to make you better. Girardi was playing sargeant out there and he has every right to do it. News Flash! The Marlins aren't the USMC! Too bad Joey Pitbull thinks they are. I'm willing to bet that Girardi wanted to be in the military but was probably 4-F (most jocks are, believe it or not) so he becomes a DI when he becomes a manager. Playing DI may work in the USMC, but not with a baseball team If I was Olsen, I'd grow a mustache right now...
