Coulter Calls 9/11 Widows "Happy their Husbands Died"
For some reason NBC decided to let Matt Lauer interview the nutjob also known as Ann Coulter today, ironically on 6/6/06. During the interview, she said that the widows of 9/11 victims were 'using their status for political gain', although she had no evidence to support this claim. She continued by saying that 'I have never seen a group of widows so happy that their husbands are dead." This is a clear insult to the victims of the worst national tragedy since Pearl Harbor, and is by far the worst thing she has said (which is saying a lot). Too bad she can't join Zacharias Moussaoui in that Supermax prison... This douche augmented that little comment by saying that the husbands were planning to divorce them before 9/11 hit. She's also avocated that Timothy McVeigh blew up the wrong building in the wrong state...said he should have blown up the NY Times building instead...

Gay Marriage Ban gets the Ban Stick
Let's see.... gay marriage - check flag burning - check any other important business we can get to? Yeah one more. Tony Perkins, head of the Family Research Council, was on Hardball and he said Bush needs to address indecency on TV. Don't you realize children are dying and families are falling apart because Eva Longoria is too scantily dressed? It's a well know fact that all the members of the FRC are too stupid to know how to change the channel on their TV sets... Free Speech...why..that's UN-GODLY!!!!!!!!

McCain's vote on gay marriage ban
McCain has problems...he's sucking up to the same people who, back in 2000, were slandering him in the Southern states. I believe it was Turdblossom Rove who started up the sh*t that McCain fathered a child with a black woman. And then last year he starts kissing Bush's ass..and then becomes pals with Falwell. Sounds like he's a masochist. Sorry, but when I see McCain, this scenario enters my mind: "Here John. Here John ! Sit up..lick Bush's hand! Good doggie! Gooooooood doggie! Now roll over...lick Falwell's shoes. Good doggie! GOOOOOOOOD doggie! Now here's a cookie!"

Nady to DL, Milledge Up
I don't see what the big deal is. So he high-fived some fans. Since the '94 strike, a lot of players have gone out of their way to be "fan-friendly." You call it hot-dogging..I call it interacting with the fans... Oh by the way I forgot to mention............... THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR HANLEY!!!!! :arms :arms :arms :cheers :cheers :cheers :beer Have you heard he's been workin out real well here with the Fish? You've yet to reap the full benefits of the trade. http://www.soxprospects.com/players/sanchez-anibal.htm I know he's 2-5 3.58 with the Mudcats, but I think you'll be pleased in the long run... And you are very welcome I don't see what the big deal is. So he high-fived some fans. Since the '94 strike, a lot of players have gone out of their way to be "fan-friendly." Beckett's sucking in the AL and Lowell'll be done in a few years... Hanley's good for many years to come, thanks! Yeah..two bad starts and that negates all the GOOD starts he's had? Lowell being done in a few years? You haven't seen the cover of this week's USA Today Sports Weekly, have you? A defending gold glover...on pace to break the AL record for two-base hits. And our SS isn't doing too bad out there either Now what's his name..? Oh yeah..it's Alex Gonzalez...

Luongo will sign one year deal; Jovocop returns?
We need Brian Skruland, Scott Melanby, Jovocop, Laus, Straka, Dvorak, Beezer, Stu Barnes, Worrell, Kozlov, and Whitney back. The Panthers had a good coach...until Captain BM Knifed The Mac...

Luongo will sign one year deal; Jovocop returns?
If Jovocop returns, I will officially devote myself to the Panthers. What if Chris Wells comes back? "Chrish Wellsh is gonna be a shupershtar"-Former Panther GM/team destroyer Bryan "Captain BM" Murray If you ever use the words Chris and Wells in a forum talking about the Panthers, I will personally find a way to have you permanently banned. Those words are sacriligeous. Not only did Bryan Murray trade one of my hero's away to get him, Chris Wells ended up as the worst trade bust in Panthers history. :mad Hey, I'm your side on this one! Gawd, I fondly remember Neil Rogers ripping Captain BM for that one...and even my fellow Bruin fans couldn't believe it. We were lucky he wasn't in charge up in Boston! I wish I still had the anti-Captain BM buttons Neil was giving out. PM me if you want a copy of the vid clip of Captain BM losing it in Ottawa after he lost a game...the F bombs are worth it... Wait..that mean I can't mention former Marlin CHRIS Clapinski or Sox pitcher David WELLS?

Transaction rules
I don't understand what rule 5 means still. so if we send uggla to the minors that means he becomes a free agent and then he can go to the yankees or whoever he wants? why would we want to do that? he is hitting good why would we not trade him for pitchers or something that we need like a CATCHER? He doesn't become a free agent. Either a team keeps him on their major league roster or allows another team the same opportunity. He doesn't get to determine that. The teams do. And if there are multiple claims on him through waivers, he is assigned to the team with the lowest winning percentage. If a team were to send him to the minors, they must offer him back to his original team before doing so. If the Marlins do not keep Uggla on the 25 man roster (active roster), then he must be offered back to his original team for half the price that he was purchased (25k I think) Also, one thing that wasn't discussed here is arbitration. I think that's pretty relevant to this thread. And 2003, thanks! I believe it's actually has to be the equivalent of time at the major league level. In the 2004 Rule 5, my Sox took Adam Stern from the Braves. In 2005, Stern spent some time on the DL which did not count as time on the 25 man roster. He did spend some time with the PawSox on rehab, but was back with the Red Sox as soon as he was eligible to come off the DL. The time he was on the DL was carried over to this season and in late April, Stern was then optioned to Pawtucket when his Rule 5 restrictions were finally ended.

Brien Taylor
I saw Taylor pitch quite a few times in '92 in Lauderdale. I'd sit with the scouts who had their guns in him. 3 out of 5 pitches...96 mph or better. I'd say to myself "sh*t, if this kid makes it, he's gonna give batters fits up there." Kid's control wasn't the best, but he had the speed. If he had gone to college, I'll bet he wouldn't ended up this way...

Yankees eyeing Griffey, Dunn
The Yankees don't have any prospects anywhere close to worthy of Adam Dunn. As for Griffey, I'm sure another highly overpayed post prime superstar will fit in just fine. The Reds would be tripping all over themselves to get Phil Hughes (and possibly a fringe prospect, i.e. Kevin Thompson) for Adam Dunn once they fall out of contention. Don't kid yourself. Adam Dunn is a .240 batting, K Machine who hits 40 HRs. He's a sexy player, not really a great one. Phil Hughes is at the very worst a top 3 pitching prospect in baseball. :plain :plain :plain :plain :plain Adam Dunn has a .378 career OBP. The last 2 years he has hit 86 homers and driven in 202 runs. The last 2 years he has hit 40+ homers, driven in 100+ runs, and scored 100+ runs. He has scored/driven in 415 runs the last 2 years. He has a career .905 OPS, and has had a sub .370 OBP once in his career, and 4 of his 6 years in the league his OBP was above .380. Not to mention the fact he is 26 years old, and is about to enter the prime of his career. He is always on base, and always producing runs. Adam Dunn is a great player. id really hate to see Griffey go to the Spankees. but somewhere in the back of his mind he must know he's not gonna get a ring in Cincy. Totally unrelated....... So let me get this straight.........The Marlins arent your favorite baseball team, the Heat arent your favorite basketball team (judging by your avatar). If the Dolphins play the Seahawks in the Superbowl are you gonna have a Seattle sig? :mischief2 No. I don't hate the Dolphins. I on the other hand...

The 2006 FIFA World Cup
Lots of players in both sports from the Antilles... holland is notoriously known for having players that come from their old colonies, some of hollands biggest stars are of caribbean decent Edgar Davids Frank Rijaard Ruud Guillit Clarence Seedorf also with the french team of today ... Patrick Viera (Senegal) Claude Makelele (Ivory Coast) Lilian Thuram (Guadalupe) best one is that brazilian guy in the japanese team ... it just looks weird Whaddya mean "notorious"? And it's Frank Rijkaard In regards to those French players you talked about; as long as they have not played for their nation of origin in other International tournaments, they can be eligible for FrannceWorld Cup. If, for example, Makelele played for a Ivory Coast national squad, he'd be ineligible to play for France. I'm not even sure that Guadalupe is a FIFA member...

Yankees eyeing Griffey, Dunn
The Yankees don't have any prospects anywhere close to worthy of Adam Dunn. As for Griffey, I'm sure another highly overpayed post prime superstar will fit in just fine. Won't happen. Griffey Jr. has never forgotten what Steinbrenner did to him when he was a kid. He's made it clear that Steinbrenner and the Yankees can go to hell. He;s also a 10/5 man... False. Griffey said last year he would go to the Yanks. However if we try to trade him to the Yanks in late July, and we are still in contention, then I can see him blocking it. He wants a ring. So he'd kiss the ass of the man who kicked him out of the clubhouse and traded his old man because of it?

The 2006 FIFA World Cup
Here is the schedule for the World Cup. And a friendly reminder to my fellow XM subscribers that all the games will be on XM as well...channel 147 for the Spanish broadcasts (featuring Andres "GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!" Cantor), 148 in English. Go team USA! Back in '90, when TNT carried the English language version (complete with commercial breaks and missed goals), you bet I watched Univision and Andres Cantor. My Spanish comprehension was practically nil, but it didn't matter. Hearing Cantor scream GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!! didn';t need translation...

are we the only team without the new batting helmets?

The 2006 FIFA World Cup
Anyone see the report done on Real Sports last year about racism in European soccer? There were clips of black soccer players being serenaded by monkey sounds and bombarded by bananas. And they talked about how extreme political groups used sporting events to gain public attention. It's all kind of disgusting. I've been wondering how the World Cup will deal with all this. Four years ago, I was lurking in this religious/white power group on yahoo (it's since been deleted...no loss) and some of the souls there were mad because Poland had a black player on their squad...a guy from Africa who married a Polish girl and was then granted Polish citizenship. Wasn't surprised at the comments those sickos were making. Ireland has had black players on their squads before and I wouldn't be surprised of the jerks from the "Southie" section of my native Boston had fits as well from this.

George W. Bush
I was willing to buy him a one way ticket back to his village in Crawford in 2004. Too bad not enough could see through the idiocy. Oh wait, that was all about religion in 2004....Thanks a bunch Radical Rightwingers! I voted for him in 04. Mainly because Kerry convinced me to vote against him. Otherwise I wouldn't have voted. I still think except for Iraq, Bush had an excellent first term. Would you be interested in purchasing some ocean front property in Arizona too? Respect the Constitution??????? ?Mr. President,? one aide in the meeting said. ?There is a valid case that the provisions in this law undermine the Constitution.? ?Stop throwing the Constitution in my face,? Bush screamed back. ?It?s just a goddamned piece of paper!? do you have a link to that quote? that is awesome The quote is fake. Sorry to disappoint . http://www.capitolhillblue.com/artman/publ...icle_7779.shtml

Name game: Tampa Bay to stay as Devil Rays in 2007
Actually, the new Rays ownership is doing a hell of a lot to make everything fan-friendly. First off, they made parking at The Trop free..no more $10 a pop. They now allow outside food and drink to be brought in. They cut some concession prices. They've re-trained the ushers to not be like seat nazis...if during the game, you want to move down to some unoccupied seats, you can and you won't get the death penalty for it. They've taken the time personally to talk to fans and they do listen. I met Sternberg at the Rays Fan Fest and told him that there were fans like me who are loyal to our teams of origin...Red Sox for me, Mets for my wife, Yankee fans are prevalent here as well (They do train here, after all). They realize that some loyalties can't be changed and they will make sure that those fans won't be hassled like before. Used to be a double standard. They'd scream at visiting fans to put their signs down but say nothing if Rays fans held theirs up. New management knows that fans like me will stay loyal...but they are concentrating on our kids. I'll give the Marlins credit..the Bark In The Park game. The Clearwater Threshers (Phillies farm team in the FSL) does it twice a season. Wouldn't mind seeing the Rays do it as well. Samson and Loria could learn a few things from Sternberg and Friedman... id love that...problem is they dont control concession prices, parking prices, or the ushers the trop may be a piece of sh*t, but at least they dont have to deal with H. Wayne That's so true. Ol' Baldy/Crater Face as Neil calls him. He must still be pissed that he couldn't con Dade into building him a park for the Marlins the way he conned Broward into buiding him the Panther's Arena... A salute to Wayne http://sounds1.neilrogers.com/sounds/bonr1995/18.mp3 http://sounds1.neilrogers.com/sounds/dat001/107.mp3 The Trop ain't perfect; it's a bitch to see a ball against the ceiling at first, but..no rainouts

Trading Dontrelle.
And I am glad we passed on Hansen, Thompson is better then him by far so far. Simmer down there, in the interest of fairness, Thompson has yet to prove anything above low-a ball. Talking about Hansen I have heard they might change him to an starting pitcher. It's already happened and in one start so far, he's combined on a shut out for the PawSox

George W. Bush

Trading Dontrelle.
At first glance, I could see Dontrelle coming to Fenway. With us losing out on bringing Clemens back and Wells on the DL again, I could see a possibilty of it going down. Thing is, I have a good idea what a package to get the D-Train to stop in Fenway would be and I'm hesitant. Jon Lester: Our #1 prospect. Rangers wanted this kid in the Manny for A-Rod deal if it went thru. Craig Hansen: Our #1 pick from last year. Was a closer at St. John's. He's now doing some starting for the PawSox and doing well. David Murphy: Our 2003 top draft pick. If Manny or Trot leaves after this season, Murphy will have to LOSE a OF slot. Manny DelCarmen: Another young arm; a guy who's made the round trip on I-95 between Fenway and McCoy a few times already. Hate to see us lose these guys, but if you threw in Olsen, I wouldn't feel too bad 4 for 2, you'd still come out ahead. Still about 2 months until the deadline, tho...
