Uggla ready to rock; Crowd for Sox series...
How DARE you compare us to Yankee fans!!!! you mean there is a difference? Yes, Yankees fans are nicer! Yeah...must be nice to intefere with HR balls that are catchable...to attack visiting fans outside of Yankee Stadium. Yankee fans remind me of this... A couple of years ago some Boston fans were sitting behind the Marlins dugout at PPS hurling personal insults at the players. So, when these Sox fans started their "Lets Go Red Sox" chant all the Marlins fans started chanting "Go Back To Boston" really loud. I hope to see the same thing happen if the Sox fans get obnoxious again. Better chowder, better Chinese and Italian food and no NASCAR..yes, Boston IS better than Southern New York, which is how I felt about Broward for the 15 years I was there... lame (and thats coming from someone currently living in boston) LAME??? Have you been to The No Name Restaurant on The Fish Pier? Gone to Legal Sea Foods? Been to Chinatown or the North End? That's REAL pizza in the North End..none of that Hungry Heartburn--oops--Howie's crap Go to Hilltop Steak House in Saugus and dare to call THAT place lame...it ain't Ponderosa or Sizzler... I rest my gastronomical case...

Uggla ready to rock; Crowd for Sox series...
CROWD FOR RED SOX Based on advance ticket sales, the Marlins are expecting close to 100,000 fans for the series with the Red Sox. That would more than double the best attendance the Marlins have had for a three-game series at home this season and more than triple their average daily draw of 10,904. There you go But most of those fans will have the "pahk th' caaah" accent If I was there, I'd have a beah from the concession stand..or a bottle of watah ok...im gunna say it...marlins fans have to be louder than sawx fans...sawx fans are terribly obnoxious and you have to drown them out...but...the best way to do that is to win...so here's hoping to 2 out of 3...lets go marlins clap clap clap :mad How DARE you compare us to Yankee fans!!!! :mad

Anyone getting the feeling Moehler might be going
Here is this.... ? Friday: Red Sox (RHP Jason Johnson, 3-8, 5.96) at Marlins (RHP Brian Moehler, 5-6, 6.55), 7:35 p.m. ET ? Saturday: Red Sox (RHP Tim Wakefield, 5-8, 3.86) at Marlins (LHP Dontrelle Willis, 4-7. 4.05), 6:05 p.m. ET Marlins website is saying D-train on Friday and Moehler/Sanchez Sat and Johnson Sunday Yes that is what I heard. I know its Wakefield, Lester and someone else for the redsox I am glad they dont have the "big guys" going. Oh on Wakefield.. I heard that players go into slumps after they see knuckleball pitchers... Is this pretty much true? Yes..especially after they face Wake The Knuckleball Of Doom

Boston series.
Me? Nervous? hardly....11 in a row and we've taken at least 2 out of three fom the Mets (much to my wife's chagrin...Pedro WHO???????) Oh..the mere thought of Big Papi giving a fan in the stands a ball from another HR...Manny sending one into the upper deck in left...oh, how I wish I was still living in Tamarac... Yes we have no DH on our side...but that will not stop us. No Beckett in full beard pitching against you...yes, that is a matchup I would like to see; no ageless Curt Schilling as well, but Wakefield and Lester are hot..and Johnson is now away from Cleveland (would YOU want to play in a city that has a flammable lake?) This weekend should be a nice preamble for the games I'll be seeing over here at the Trop. If theo is traveling with us...hmmmm...some trades might be made May the best team (the one that allows facial hair) win :thumbup I only wish that SUN here in the Tampa Bay area carried the games...

Loria's Offer To Bonds Draws Ire
If Loria trades away most of the team as salary dumps...what makes you think he's gonna spend on Bonds? Plus..you think Bonds is gonna shave his mustache and take his earring out to please Joey Pitbull?

How hard can it be to cancel an AOL account?
I'll say this about AOL...when they had the trial 3 1/2 floppies, I'd grab a few and re-format...in grad school, I never had to but any floppies Calling customer service at my ISP...I'm calling Bombay..and it's when you HINT about cancelling that they kiss your ass. Hard to understand them 95% of the time. How many people from Bombay are named "Floyd?" Reminds me of that bit Neil Rogers used to play about buying cigarettes at a convenience store... A few good things about those trial CDs...forming a band? Get a trial disc and look at the password...that's your band's name. Plus you can use the discs as coaster or hang it from your rear view..or use them in a collage...

Report: Red Sox acquire RHP Johnson from Indians
According to FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal, the Red Sox have acquired Jason Johnson from the Indians for cash considerations. It seems they weren't so impressed with Kyle Snyder after all. The Red Sox are expected to pick up the majority of the approx. $2.2 million remaining on Johnson's contract, but the Indians won't get a player in return. Johnson can act as the club's fifth starter until David Wells and/or Matt Clement gets healthy or someone better can be acquired. Eventually, the Red Sox could try to move him again. ROTOWORLD.com Good..we didn't give up anybody..but I wouldn't give up on Snyder..he gave us one good start...

Burning the Flag Amendment
Governments love it when their constituents are ultra-nationalistic. Gives them more room to operate their bulls***. In the 70s Nixon had his "Silent Majority." Now Reagan and both Bushes have the "Moral Majority."..who as far as I am concerned, is neither...

Your Stance on Movie Piracy
Like someone mentioned earlier, there are so many forms of acquiring media, even aside downloading, that who's to say where you cross the line? People are ALWAYS going to find a way. Before Napster and burners came along, it was normal to tape songs off the radio and CD's. It wasn't the best quality but it was better than spending 13 bucks on a CD where you might only like one song. Is it just as wrong to TIVO a movie as downloading one? There are far too many circumstances. And why are CD/DVD burners on every shelf of every Best Buy? Personally, I don't download movies. I'm too lazy and I'll probably feel uneasy because they're such big files. I do download music day and night but like many others here, I'll buy a CD if it's good stuff. HeatGirl03... Not sure if you remember it, but 15 years ago, WQAM carried a oldies format called "Kool Gold" They played old and semi-obscure stuff....stuff I hadn't heard in years and stuff I never heard...period. Years later, when I was using WinMX (RIP), i was looking for that stuff..not the more well-known stuff. Lar$ and the other a**holes of Greedtallica wouldn't have to worry about me depriving them of the equivalent of a pack of smokes. And..like I said before...I still tape off the radio. I'll tape concert programs. I guess if I'm listening in my car...others might hear it and I'll get life at Starke...

Burning the Flag Amendment
Or maybe ask a Vietnam vet who spent years tortured in a small, filthy cell unfit for a dog. Or a Korean War soldier who helped rescue half a nation from Communism, or a Desert Storm warrior who repulsed a bloody dictator from raping and pillaging an innocent country. Vietnam...a country that to my knowledge never attacked the US. Also, I don't recall any of Kim Il Sung's boys sneaking on to our shores. either. Funny you talk about bloody dictators...the names Somoza and Pinochet ring a bell? After all, the USA helped put them in power... Should we ask the CIA soldiers who installed Pinochet and propped up people like Somoza and the born-again butcher Efrain Rios Montt of Guatemala?

Braves fire sale.
Personally, I'd like to see part of the trade the Sox made in August 2000 for Dante Bichette reversed I think you're the only person in the world who wants Reitsma. Unless that's sarcasm, not really sure where you're going with that, or what the wink means. Afterall, it's hard to have scathing sarcasm with such an obscure reference. In 2000, I attended about 75% of the SaraSox games. The team blew that year, but they had three starters who were highly rated: Casey Fossum, Josh Hancock...and Reitsma. I was surprised they traded Reitsma away. The winter before, the Rays took him in the Rule 5 and wanted to keep him, but couldn't make a deal with Trader Dan and he was returned during Spring Training. Later that season, when the Sox dealt with the Rockies for Mike Lansing and Rolando Arrojo, the Rockies wanted Reitsma, but again Duquette said no. That's why I was surprised when he was included in the Bichette deal. OK, Reitsma's a closer now, but if he did come back to Fenway, I'd like to see him given a chance to return to the rotation. Sox did that before with D-Lowe, and it looks like one if Reitsma's Braves teammates has also come come full circle...from starter to closer to starter again. I'd give him a shot...

Like Theo said...the door will be open for him to return to the Sox. I could see him going to the PawSox and being a player-coach...

Wasn't surprised. Snow wanted out..and I looked at the Sox site earlier in the day and saw that the Sox still hadn't put Snyder on the 25 man. I'm wondering what moves Theo might make... :whistle

Your Stance on Movie Piracy
Does anyone know if since the onset of napster, have album sales gone down? B/c if they havent significantly it isnt that big a deal. Online downloads are not theft, b/c as someone said u are sharing somehting someone bought. Actually sales of Metallica have gone down...you can thank Lar$ for causing it...
