Boston series.

Featured Replies

So is anyone kinda "nervous" about the Boston series? Seeing Ortiz, Ramirez and the crew win game after game and score tons of runs kinda freaks me out :hat .

Do you guys think we can do this? We pretty much silenced the Jays bats so thats something to think about. Atleast we will be in our home park with our loud Fish fans :thumbup . Go get them boys.

Discuss fears, hope etc: .

Positives:

-D-Train and JJ will be pitching.

-Schilling and Beckett won't be pitching.

-We have a day off tomorrow and Boston don't, and they'll be tired from the flight to Florida.

-The hopeful full-time return of UGGLA!!

Negatives:

-Boston's bats.

-Jon Papelbon.

I have no fears and am not nervous at all. This is not the World Series. It's just another 3 games in a long season. I think we have a pitching edge in 2 out of the 3 games. I think we have the NL advantage in all 3 games, as Ortiz has to try to play first. I'd love for us to sweep the series or at least win 2 of 3. It would bring more attention to our baby Marlins, especially a sweep. It's interesting to play against a different team...especially one with Lowell and Gonzo on it. It's probably the most intriguing series of the whole season. Let's hope for the best. I'll definitely be there for at least 1 and will certainly watch all 3.

They just hung with the Yankees in Yankee Stadium, so they should be confident right now getting Boston at home. I hope the Sox come in over-confdent thinking they're going to roll right over the Fish. They've got to lose eventually, so it might as well be in Miami.

Ortiz is the DH but I expect him to play at least 2 if not the whole series at 1st. Although, Tito will probably like to rotate 'Tiz, Youk, and Lowell throughout the 3 games as they are all swinging a good bat.

We will crush them like a tiny rabbit.

let's try our best to not have to see Papelbon.

just have a lead late in the game, and avoid him at all costs, even though he has been showing his human side lately.

Well losing this game against TB means that we have to take 2/3 from Boston in order to remain on track (according to me, which is completely personal)

The Fish can realistically take 2 of 3 from the Sawx. They will have no fear against them at home (they had no fear against the Yanks in NY).

Only downside for the Marlins is the Uggla factor, and the fact that they just played one of their most pitiful games of the season against the D-Rays and that sorry azz pitcher of theirs with the unkempt hair.

Im sure most of us would rather see the Marlins lose 7-3 than lose the way they did tonight.

seeing the marlins lose back to back games to walk off homeruns to the devil rays in tampa was much worse.

True. I just said it was "one of their most pitiful" not the most pitiful. :thumbup :D

I'm hoping Wakefield doesn't cause any long term damage to the sanity of our young hitters.

Don't make Errors

Pitch to your best potential

AND

Hit in clutch at-bats with runner's on

this i'll lead us to wins

Moehler going Saturday: After Wednesday's 3-1 loss to the Devil Rays, Girardi announced Brian Moehler will start Saturday against the Red Sox. The manager had been holding off naming a Saturday starter, because Moehler was a possibility to be used in long relief in the series with Tampa Bay.

Moehler pitched four innings last Friday in a 6-5 loss to the Yankees at Yankee Stadium. Another starting option was rookie Anibal Sanchez, who will get a start sometime next week. The Marlins will be needing an extra starter because they have a doubleheader scheduled at the New York Mets on July 8.

Another positive.... Friday's starter, Jason Johnson, is making his first start as a Rojo Sox and is 3-8 with a 5.96 ERA while with Cleveland. He's going to be pushing it to prove his worth, so maybe the Fish can take advantage of it and pounce on him.

Key for Fish: Don't get nervous, once you accept fear, you lost the game.

Key for Girardi: Don't use Herge in close game.

Fear is the mind killer says the Quisac Hadarac

I think it is a good series for the fish. They are expected to pull 30 to 40k a game

Thats going to be tough on Lowell about the DH thing. Youkilis is their lead off hitter and Ortiz will definatly be in their line up, I thing Lowell might be used as a PH or late inning defence replacement.

all i ask is to take 2 of 3...anything less than that and ill be harrassed like the world is coming to an end...please marlins, do this for me...make it loud and keep me proud South Florida! :thumbup :notworthy
